REGULAR MEETING MARCH 19, 1990 ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 9-1990 - DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE EQUIPMENT - DEPARTMENT OF SANITATION Board Attorney Jenny Pitts Manier advised that the Resolution submitted to the Board today declares three (3) vehicles obsolete and removes them from the City inventory. She noted that these vehicles will be utilized as trade-ins on three (3) cab and chassis that will be purchased by the Bureau of Sanitation, the recommendation for award which is also on the Board agenda today. Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the Resolution as submitted be adopted. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried, and the following Resolution No. 9-1990 was adopted: RESOLUTION NO. 9-1990 A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS APPROVING THE TRADE-IN OR EXCHANGE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AS PART OF PURCHASE PRICE OF PROPERTY OF SIMILAR NATURE WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend that the following described property is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and should be traded in or exchanged for property of a similar nature: UNIT #574 - One (1) 1983 Ford Model F60 Truck with a 8 yd. side load packer and hydraulic lift UNIT #562 - One (1) 1983 Ford Model R80 with 20 yd. Heil Rear Load Packer UNIT 4465 - One (1) 1972 Ford Model F502 WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend that the following described property is of a similar nature to the above -described property and should be purchased, with the above -described property being traded in so as to reduce the purchase price, in part or in full: One (1) Cab and Chassis with a gross vehicle weight of 52000 lbs. One (1) Cab and Chassis with a gross vehicle weight between 30000 and 33000 lbs. One (1) Cab and Chassis with a gross vehicle weight of 23000 lbs. WHEREAS, I.C. 36-1-11-9 authorizes the Board of Public Works to trade in or exchange City -owned property for partial or full reduction in the purchase price of property of a similar nature. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, AS FOLLOWS: 1. The following described property shall be traded in or exchanged as a reduction on the purchase price of the following described property of a similar nature: PROPERTY TO BE TRADED -IN UNIT #574 - One (1) 1983 Ford Model F60 Truck with a 8 yd. side load packer and hydraulic lift UNIT 4562 - One (1) 1983 Ford Model R80 with 20 yd. Heil Rear Load Packer UNIT #465 - One (1) 1972 Ford Model F502
