37 <br />REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 25. 1991 <br />project and at this time recommends that the Board award the low <br />bid of Kaser-Spraker Construction, Inc., 25487 West State Road 2 <br />P.O. Box 3605, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $25,828.00. <br />Additionally submitted was the appropriate Construction Contract <br />and necessary bonds for this project. Mr. Leszczynski made a <br />motion that the recommendation be accepted, the bid be awarded, <br />the Construction Contract be approved and the bonds as submitted <br />be filed. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUESTS REFERRED: <br />Mr. Leszczynski made two (2) separate motions that the following <br />requests be referred to the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus for review and recommendation. Ms. Humphreys seconded <br />the motions which carried. <br />OF ERSKINE BOULEVARD RESIDENTS TO CONDUCT ANNUAL CANDLELIGHT <br />WALK AND CARRIAGE RIDES - DECEMBER 14, 1991 <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Thomas A. Wolford, 2620 Erskine <br />Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, advised that as in years past <br />he is requesting permission for the Erskine Boulevard <br />Residents to hold their annual candlelight walk from 5:00 <br />p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on December 14, 1991. Mr. Wolford advised <br />that the walk will be conducted along the sidewalks, on both <br />sides of Erskine Boulevard, from Ewing Avenue to Donmoyer. <br />Mr. Wolford further advised that it is anticipated that they <br />will have luminaries, various groups caroling and carriage <br />rides provided by Bonnyville Carriage Rides. <br />OF ST. JOE VALLEY CHAPTER KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS TO CONDUCT <br />MARCH FOR LIFE - JANUARY 19, 1992 <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Arthur R. Leinen, Knights of <br />Columbus Council 553, P.O. Box 774, South Bend, Indiana, <br />advised that the St. Joe Valley Chapter of the Knights of <br />Columbus are again requesting permission to conduct the <br />"March for Life" on Sunday, January 19, 1992 at 1:30 p.m. <br />Mr. Leinen advised that the participants will assemble in the <br />parking lot of the Knights of Columbus at 815 North Michigan <br />Street and will then proceed to march south on Michigan <br />Street to Navarre Street, then west on Navarre to Main Street <br />then South on Main Street to Wayne Street then West on Wayne <br />to St. Patrick's Church on Taylor Street where an interfaith <br />service will be held. Marchers will then make their way back <br />to 815 North Michigan Street independently. <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the above requests be referred <br />to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of two (2) <br />lists as submitted by the Department of Code Enforcement <br />indicating that sixty-eight (68) City owned and miscellaneous <br />properties were cleaned by the Department during the period <br />November 12, 1991 to November 15, 1991. Mrs. DeClercq made a <br />motion that the lists be accepted for filing. Ms. Humphreys <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Juan A. Manigault, Executive Director, WDS, submitted two (2) <br />lists to the Board containing three hundred thirty-four (334) <br />claims and recommended approval. Additionally, the Deputy <br />Controllers Office submitted claims in the amounts of $83,505.27 <br />and $2,478,490.99 and recommended approval. Therefore, Ms. <br />
