REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 18, 1991
<br />the Quotations received on November 12, 1991, for the above
<br />referred to project and at this time recommends that the Board
<br />award the Quotation of McIntyre & Jones Construction Company,
<br />Inc., 2526 West 6th Street, Mishawaka, Indiana, in the amount of
<br />$9,303.46. Additionally submitted was the required Construction
<br />Contract for this project. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a
<br />motion that the Quotation be awarded and the Construction
<br />Contract be approved and executed. Ms. Humphreys seconded the
<br />motion which carried.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION AND APPROVE_ CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - EAST BANK
<br />AREA SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROJECT
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a
<br />Memorandum from Mr. Carl Littrell, Director, Division of
<br />Engineering, recommending that the Board award the Quotation of
<br />L.L. Geans & Sons, Inc., 56535 Magnetic Drive, Mishawaka,
<br />Indiana, in the amount of $13,199.00 for the above referred to
<br />project. It is noted that the Board of Public Works opened
<br />Quotations for this project on November 12, 1991. Mrs. DeClercq
<br />made a motion that the recommendation be accepted, the Quotation
<br />be awarded and the Construction Contract be approved. Ms.
<br />Humphreys seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION - ONE (1) COMPRESSOR AND ASSOCIATED LABOR AND
<br />EQUIPMENT - HOWARD PARK ICE RINK FACILITY
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that it is being recommended that the
<br />Quotation submitted by Fisher Refrigeration, Inc., 1612
<br />Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of
<br />$21,373.00, for the above referred to equipment/labor be
<br />awarded. Mr. Leszczynski noted that this Quotation contained a
<br />base bid of $18,867.00 as well as a cost of $2,506.00 for two (2)
<br />additional items. It was noted that Quotations for this project
<br />were opened by the Board on November 8, 1991. Therefore, Ms.
<br />Humphreys made a motion that the Quotation in the amount of
<br />$21,373.00 be awarded. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which
<br />carried.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - DOWNTOWN SIGNALIZATION PROJECT
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Board is in receipt of an Indiana
<br />Department of Highways Change Order for the above referred
<br />project as submitted by the Engineering Department and Trans Tech
<br />Electric indicating a decrease of $13,065.60. Mr. Leszczynski
<br />noted that the decrease is due to a deduct for three (3) one inch
<br />(1") innerduct. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the Change
<br />Order be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which
<br />carried.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - DEMOLITION
<br />-1226, 1228, 1230, 1231, 1233, 1306 WEST WASHINGTON
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. David L. Norris, Project Manager,
<br />West Washington - Chapin Revitalization Project, Department of
<br />Economic Development, requested that the Board advertise for the
<br />receipt of bids for the demolition of the above referenced
<br />buildings. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the request be
<br />approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ONE (1)
<br />ONE TON TRUCK CHASSIS AND ONE (1) STANDARD HALF TON PICKUP TRUCK
<br />Mr. Phil St. Clair, Director, Division of Equipment Services,
<br />requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for
<br />one (1) one ton truck chassis and one (1) standard half ton
<br />pickup truck to be utilized by the Bureau of Streets. Mr.
<br />Leszczynski made a motion that the request be approved. Mrs.
<br />DeClercq seconded the motion which carried.
