REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 4, 1991 <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - DE-ICING <br />MATERIALS <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Bill Penn, Director, Division of <br />Transportation, requested that the Board advertise for the <br />following materials: <br />1. Sodium Chloride 12,000 tons <br />2. Calcium Chloride Sand 5,000 tons <br />3. Calcium Chloride Slag Sand 5,000 tons <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTORS BONDS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Engineering Department has <br />recommended that the Board approve the Bond of Contractor for <br />Concrete Foundations, Inc., effective November 4, 1991. Mrs. <br />DeClercq made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and <br />the bond be approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - CROSSROADS INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX PHASE II <br />INCLUDING A_RESUBDIVISION OF LOT 2 OF CROSSROADS INDUSTRIAL <br />COMPLEX (SEWER/WATER/STREET) <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the above referred to Title Sheet was approved and <br />executed. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION: No Truck Parking <br />LOCATION: 2222 South Michigan <br />2. REMOVAL: Handicap Parking Space <br />LOCATION: 100 South Main at Washington <br />(east side) <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Deputy Controllers Office has <br />submitted three (3) lists recommending that claims in the amounts <br />of $681,569.18, $1,167,245.57 and $950,656.34 be approved. <br />Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the claims be <br />approved as recommended and the reports as submitted be filed. <br />Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR: <br />UESTIONS AND CONCERNS REGARDING PARKING PROBLEMS - 409 W. <br />JEFFERSON <br />Mrs. Vera Yeager, 129 Franklin Place, South Bend, Indiana, was <br />present and addressed the Board concerning the parking problems <br />her tenants are experiencing at 409 West Jefferson Boulevard. <br />Mrs. Yeager stated that the tenants normally do not have a <br />parking problem during the day because most of them work but <br />occasionally if they are home due to illness or whatever they <br />receive parking tickets. She did state that one (1) tenant does <br />return home from work early in the morning and cannot park in <br />front of the apartment because she would receive parking tickets <br />in the morning. Mrs. Yeager stated that she would like stickers <br />for her tenants that would allow them to park on the street. <br />11 <br />1 <br />
