26 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 7, 1991 <br />sanitation sewer system of the City of South Bend to provide <br />sanitary sewer service to two (2) parcels of property described <br />in the document, Paul L. Martin and Ronny L. Shrum, owners of <br />real estate, waive and relase any and all rights which they may <br />now or hereafter have to remonstrate against or otherwise object <br />or oppose any pending or future annexation by the City of the <br />real estate described. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that this <br />document be accepted and approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />APPROVE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REPORT OF CONTRACT <br />FINAL INSPECTION AND RECOMMENDATION FOR ACCEPTANCE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Engineering Department has <br />submitted to the Board the above referred to document in <br />conjunction with the intersection signalization project which <br />took place at the intersections of Miami and Calvert, Twyckenham <br />and Calvert, Miracle Lane and Hickory and Mishawaka Avenue and <br />Logan. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that this final inspection <br />report be accepted and approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />APPROVE WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMITS <br />Ms. Megan Wright, Pretreatment Coordinator, Division of <br />Environmental Services, recommended and requested that the <br />Industrial Discharge Permits for Heat Treat, Inc., 1331 Northside <br />Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, Nimet Industries, 2424 North <br />Foundation Drive, South Bend, Indiana and Van Dyne Crotty, 2810 <br />Foundation Drive, South Bend, Indiana be approved. Ms. Wright <br />noted that Heat Treat and Nimet are existing permits which are <br />being renewed. Van Dyne Crotty is a new industrial laundry. <br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the Wastewater <br />Discharge Permits be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />AWARD BID - STUDEBAKER CORRIDOR RESIDENTIAL ASBESTOS ABATEMENT <br />PHASE II <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, <br />Division of Engineering, advised that he has reviewed the bids <br />received on September 30, 1991 for the above referred to project <br />and recommends at this time that the Board award the lowest of <br />seven (7) bids as submitted by Specialty Systems of Illinois, <br />Inc. South Bend Division, 1408 Elwood Avenue, South Bend, <br />Indiana, in the amount of $8,964.00 for the above referred to <br />project. Mr. Littrell noted that Specialty Systems also offers <br />two million dollars ($2,000,000.00) worth of occurence coverage <br />asbestos liability insurance without additional premium and they <br />propose to complete the work in eight (8) days. Mr. Leszczynski <br />made a motion that this recommendation be accepted and the bid be <br />awarded. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - STUDEBAKER CORRIDOR RESIDENTIAL DEMOLITION - PHASE II <br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, advised <br />the Board that he has reviewed the bids received on September 30, <br />1991, for the above referred to demolition project and at this <br />time recommends that the Board award the lowest of the four (4) <br />bids received as submitted by Warner and Sons, Inc., P.O. Box 87 <br />Elkhart, Indiana, in the amount of $46,999.00. Mr. Littrell also <br />indicated that Warner and Sons proposes to complete the work in <br />thirty (30) days. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the <br />recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded. Mr. <br />Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - 1991 CONCRETE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br />Mr. Carl P.
