REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 16, 1991 1 1 REQUESTS APPROVED: OF C.H.E.E.T.A. TO CONDUCT WALK-A-THON - SEPTEMBER 29, 1991 OF SAINT JOSEPH MEDICAL CENTER TO CONDUCT 11TH ANNUAL SPORTSMED 10K - OCTOBER 6, 1991 TO CLOSE CLOVER, FROM HILDRETH TO NORTHSIDE BOULEVARD, FOR NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - OCTOBER 6, 1991 OF HISTORIC DISTRICT YARD SALE COMMITTEE TO CLOSE LA PORTE, FROM WASHINGTON TO COLFAX, IN CONJUNCTION WITH YARD SALE - SEPTEMBER 28, 1991 Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the above referred to requests which were submitted to the Board on July 22, 1991, September 3, 1991, September 9, 1991 and approval is recommended. Therefore, upon motions made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the requests of C.H.E.E.T.A, St. Joseph Medical Center And of the Historic District Yard Sale Committee were approved. Additionally, upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request to close Clover Street was approved. DENY REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 1225 VAN BUREN Mr. Leszczynski noted that on May 20, 1991, the request which the Board received from the Near Northwest Neighborhood Association, P.O. Box 1132, South Bend, Indiana, to purchase the property located at 1225 Van Buren (Key #18-1080-3344) was referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. At this time the Board has been advised that this property is being utilized by the Bureau of Housing as a Homestead property and therefore is not available for sale. Therefore, Ms. Humphreys made am motion that the request to purchase this property be denied. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were approved: 1. NEW INSTALLATION: Handicap parking space LOCATION: 315 Chestnut REMARKS: As requested by Ms. Mary Ann McFarlin on September 9, 1991. 2. NEW INSTALLATION: Handicap Parking space (One (1) 25' space) LOCATION: 1105 North Elmer REMARKS: As requested by Mr. Willie Jones APPROVE CONTRACTORS BOND Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Engineering Department has recommended that the Bond of Contractor for Nielson Construction be approved effective September 16, 1991. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bond be approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORTS Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of two (2) lists indicating the locations of fifty-one (51) City -owned and miscellaneous properties cleaned by the Department of Code Enforcement during the period September 3, 1991, to September 5, 1991. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the lists as submitted be accepted for filing. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried.
