REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 16, 1991 <br />1 <br />1 <br />REQUESTS APPROVED: <br />OF C.H.E.E.T.A. TO CONDUCT WALK-A-THON - SEPTEMBER 29, 1991 <br />OF SAINT JOSEPH MEDICAL CENTER TO CONDUCT 11TH ANNUAL <br />SPORTSMED 10K - OCTOBER 6, 1991 <br />TO CLOSE CLOVER, FROM HILDRETH TO NORTHSIDE BOULEVARD, FOR <br />NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - OCTOBER 6, 1991 <br />OF HISTORIC DISTRICT YARD SALE COMMITTEE TO CLOSE LA <br />PORTE, FROM WASHINGTON TO COLFAX, IN CONJUNCTION WITH YARD <br />SALE - SEPTEMBER 28, 1991 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to requests which were <br />submitted to the Board on July 22, 1991, September 3, 1991, <br />September 9, 1991 and approval is recommended. Therefore, upon <br />motions made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and <br />carried, the requests of C.H.E.E.T.A, St. Joseph Medical Center <br />And of the Historic District Yard Sale Committee were approved. <br />Additionally, upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by <br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request to close Clover Street was <br />approved. <br />DENY REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 1225 VAN BUREN <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that on May 20, 1991, the request which the <br />Board received from the Near Northwest Neighborhood Association, <br />P.O. Box 1132, South Bend, Indiana, to purchase the property <br />located at 1225 Van Buren (Key #18-1080-3344) was referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation. At this time the Board has been advised that <br />this property is being utilized by the Bureau of Housing as a <br />Homestead property and therefore is not available for sale. <br />Therefore, Ms. Humphreys made am motion that the request to <br />purchase this property be denied. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION: Handicap parking space <br />LOCATION: 315 Chestnut <br />REMARKS: As requested by Ms. Mary Ann <br />McFarlin on September 9, 1991. <br />2. NEW INSTALLATION: Handicap Parking space <br />(One (1) 25' space) <br />LOCATION: 1105 North Elmer <br />REMARKS: As requested by Mr. Willie Jones <br />APPROVE CONTRACTORS BOND <br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Engineering Department has <br />recommended that the Bond of Contractor for Nielson Construction <br />be approved effective September 16, 1991. Mrs. DeClercq made a <br />motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bond be <br />approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of two (2) <br />lists indicating the locations of fifty-one (51) City -owned and <br />miscellaneous properties cleaned by the Department of Code <br />Enforcement during the period September 3, 1991, to September 5, <br />1991. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the lists as submitted be <br />accepted for filing. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />
