REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 5, 1991 <br />At this time, IUSB is formally asking for permission to close <br />Northside Boulevard, between Veteran's Memorial Park and 20th <br />Street from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of <br />approximately twelve (12) abandoned vehicles, which are being <br />stored at Super Auto Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been <br />stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had <br />been run for auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the above request was approved and a date of August <br />19, 1991, was established for the receiving and opening of sealed <br />bids. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS FOR ASBESTOS <br />ABATEMENT AND DEMOLITION - COLFAX THEATRE <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Cleo Hickey, Downtown Project <br />Manager, Department of Economic Development, requested that the <br />Board advertise for the receipt of bids for asbestos abatement <br />and demolition of the Colfax Theatre. <br />Board Attorney Jenny Pitts Manier informed members of the Board <br />that the specifications for the asbestos abatement have been <br />reviewed and this project is ready to be bid. However, Ms. <br />Manier noted that the specifications for the demolition have not <br />been reviewed by all appropriate departments at this time. <br />Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the request be <br />approved subject to the specifications being reviewed prior to <br />bid advertisement. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT UNITY WALK - OCTOBER 20, 1991 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request which was <br />submitted to the Board on July 22, 1991, and approval is <br />recommended. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the <br />recommendation be accepted and the request be approved. Mr. <br />Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE RELEASE OF CONTRACTORS BONDS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Engineering Department has <br />recommended that the Contractors Bonds for the following be <br />released: <br />1. Electro Transfer Systems, Inc. Effective 6-24-92 <br />1916 South Main street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46635 <br />2. I.O. Pfeiffer & Sons, Inc. Effective 8-5-91 <br />502 North Bowen <br />Bremen, Indiana 46500 <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the Bonds <br />released. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of two (2) <br />lists from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating that <br />-thirty-two (32) miscellaneous and three (3) City owned/ <br />
