<br />REQUESTS REFERRED:
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys
<br />and carried, the following requests were referred to the
<br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and
<br />recommendation:
<br />TO CLOSE PARKOVASH, FROM IRO UOIS TO LAFAYETTE, FOR BLOCK
<br />PARTY - AUGUST 3, 1991
<br />Mr. Paul Piller, 331 Parkovash Avenue, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />submitted to the Board an Application for Use of and Blocking
<br />of Access to Public Right -of -Way for a Party or Similar
<br />Event, requesting that Parkovash, from Iroquois to Lafayette,
<br />be closed on Saturday, August 3, 1991, from 2:00 p.m. to
<br />10:00 p.m. for a block party.
<br />TO CLOSE WAKEWA AVENUE, FROM HILLCREST TO LAFAYETTE, FOR
<br />BLOCK PARTY - JULY 28 1991
<br />Mr. Steven L. Michael, 205 Wakewa Avenue, south Bend,
<br />Indiana, submitted to the Board an Application for Use of and
<br />Blocking of Access to Public Right -of -Way for a Party or
<br />Similar Event, requesting that Wakewa Avenue, from Hillcrest
<br />to Lafayette, be closed on Sunday, July 28, 1991, from 2:00
<br />P.M. to 10.00 P.M. for a neighborhood block party.
<br />OF RIVER PARK BUSINESS ASSOCIATION TO CONDUCT PARADE - AUGUST
<br />24, 1991
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Fay Williams, River Park
<br />Business Association, 3406 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, advised that the River Park Business Association of
<br />South Bend is conducting River Park Days on Saturday, August
<br />24, 1991. They are setting up a parade which will consist of
<br />thirty plus (30+) entries including floats, marchers, bands,
<br />etc. They will start the parade at IUSB and will proceed
<br />along Mishawaka Avenue ending at 36th Street. Ms. Williams
<br />noted that they will need to close Mishawaka Avenue, from
<br />IUSB, crossing Ironwood to 36th Street.
<br />- OF MICHIANA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL TO CONDUCT WALK-A-THON -
<br />SEPTEMBER 21, 1991
<br />Ms. Tracie Davis, Special Projects Coordinator, Michiana
<br />Community Hospital, 2515 East Jefferson Boulevard, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, advised that Michiana Community Hospital would
<br />like to sponsor a walk-a-thon on Saturday, September 21, 1991
<br />to benefit the Michiana Community Hospital Foundation. Ms.
<br />Davis submitted a route for the walk-a-thon and advised that
<br />the walk would be three (3) miles starting and finishing at
<br />the Hospital.
<br />- OF TEMPLE BETH-EL TO ALLOW PARKING ON BOTH SIDES OF THE
<br />TEMPLE BLOCK ON WEST MADISON AND NORTH LAFAYETTE IN
<br />CONJUNCTION WITH HOLY DAY SERVICES - SEPTEMBER 8-9 1991 AND
<br />SEPTEMBER 17-18, 1991
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. David L. Cohn, President,
<br />Temple Beth -El, 305 West Madison Street, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />requested that parking be allowed on both sides of the Temple
<br />block on West Madison Street and North Lafayette Boulevard
<br />for Holy Day Services as follows:
<br />Sunday September 8 8:15 p.m.
<br />Monday September 9 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 P.M.
<br />Tuesday September 17 8:15 p.m.
<br />Wednesday September 18 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
