201 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 24, 1991 <br />WHEREAS, the St. Joseph County Civil Defense is in need of <br />another vehicle to add to its motor vehicle fleet and seeks the <br />transfer by the South Bend Police Department to it of said <br />vehicle, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the South Bend Police Department <br />to transfer said vehicle to the St. Joseph County Civil Defense. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of <br />the City of South Bend that in consideration of One Dollar <br />($1.00), the City sells its Mechanical #724 a 1987 Ford Crown <br />Victoria, to the St. Joseph County Civil Defense. <br />The transfer of said vehicle shall be effective upon the <br />adoption of a Resolution substantially identical in its terms to <br />the terms of this Resolution by the Board of Commissioners for <br />St. Joseph County. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said vehicle be removed from the <br />City inventory. <br />ADOPTED this 24th day of June, 1991. <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/John E. Parmerlee, Clerk <br />APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR EASEMENT - UNION STATION <br />Board Attorney Jenny Pitts Manier informed members of the Board <br />that pursuant to the May 6, 1991, approval of the installation of <br />a canopy at the Union Station, 310 West South Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, which will encroach onto the public right-of-way, the <br />appropriate Agreement for Easement has been prepared and <br />submitted to the Board for approval. Mrs. Manier noted that this <br />Easement will be in effect for as long as the canopy exists on <br />the property. <br />'Therefore, Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the Agreement for <br />Easement be approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE REQUESTS: <br />- REQUEST OF OFFICE OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS TO CLOSE STREETS IN <br />CONJUNCTION WITH ETHNIC FESTIVAL - JUNE 26-30 1991 <br />- REQUEST TO CLOSE AMHURST, FROM CHIPPEWA TO MIAMI, FOR BLOCK <br />PARTY - JULY 4, 1991 <br />- REQUEST TO CLOSE WAYNE STREET, FROM ESTHER TO GREENLAWN, FOR <br />BLOCK PARTY - JULY 4 1991 <br />- REQUEST OF VIET NAM VETERANS TO CONDUCT 3RD ANNUAL <br />M.I.A. HOSTAGE FREEDOM MARCH - AUGUST 10, 1991 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to requests which were <br />submitted to the Board on June 17, 1991, and approval is <br />recommended. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the <br />recommendations be accepted and the requests be approved. Ms. <br />Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />
