REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 24, 1991 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:35 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 1991, by Board President John E. <br />Leszczynski. Also present were Board members Patricia E. <br />DeClercq and Katherine Humphreys as well as Board Attorney Jenny <br />Pitts Manier. <br />AGENDA ITEM STRICKEN <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the agenda item relating to <br />the Board invoking its emergency powers in regards to a pavement <br />collapse on South Ironwood Drive be stricken from the agenda at <br />this time as it has been determined that someone else is <br />responsible for the repair. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held <br />on June 17, 1991 were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - ONE (1) 1500 GPM COMBINATION PUMPER AND <br />ELEVATING DEVICE WITH A TELESCOPING BOOM SIXTY-FIVE (65) FEET IN <br />HEIGHT <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the above referred to equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs <br />of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bid was opened and publicly read: <br />PIERCE MANUFACTURING, INC. <br />2600 American Drive <br />Appleton_, WI 54915 <br />AGENT -OF BIDDER: <br />MIDWEST FIRE & SAFETY EQUIPMENT COMPANY, INC. <br />c/o Mr. Tom Frederick <br />50956 Lincolnshire Trail <br />Granger, Indiana 46530 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Tom Frederick, Authorized Sales <br />Representative for Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., Non -Collusion <br />Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination Commitment form <br />was completed and a ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was <br />submitted. <br />BID: <br />One (1) Class "A" 65 Foot Tele-Squrt mounted on a custom <br />Pierce Arrow Chassis - Cash Price: $348,273.00 <br />If aerial portion_ ($78,720.00) of the apparatus is paid <br />sixty (60) to ninety (90) days prior to completion of <br />apparatus, deduct: r $ 2,433.00 <br />If chassis portion ($112,241.00) is paid ninety (90) to <br />one hundred twenty (120) days prior to completion of the <br />apparatus - deduct: - $ 5,345.00 <br />Note: <br />Optional Equipment Prices contained on additional sheet <br />submitted with bid. This equipment can be purchased at <br />prices indicated only in conjunction with this bid. <br />Delivery shall be three hundred ninety (390) to four hundred <br />fifty (450) days after approval of contract. <br />
