REGULAR MEETING JUNE 10, 1991 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:35 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 1991, by Board President John E. <br />Leszczynski.. Also present were Board members Patricia E. <br />DeClercq and Katherine Humphreys and Board Attorney Jenny Pitts <br />Manier. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, an IBM Change Authorization was added to the agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held <br />on June 3, 1991 were approved. <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADDENDUM <br />The following Community Development Addendum was presented to the <br />Board for approval: <br />ADDENDUM I <br />HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION <br />HOUSING REHABILITATION FUND ACTIVITY <br />Ms. Marcia Townsend, Department of Economic Development, <br />advised that this Addendum extends the Contract until <br />December 31, 1991 in order to provide more time to the <br />Housing Development Corporation to utilize the funds <br />allocated for this activity. <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the above referred to Addendum was approved and <br />executed. <br />APPROVE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING <br />SERVICES - COMBINED SEWER OVERFLOW CONTROL STUDY <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that submitted to the Board was Amendment <br />No. 1 to the Agreement for Professional Engineering Services <br />between the City of South Bend and Greeley and Hansen, 3750 Guion <br />Road, Suite 200, Indianapolis, Indiana, in regards to the <br />combined sewer overflow control study which the Board of Public <br />Works approved and executed on October 29, 1990. Mr. <br />Leszczynski noted that this Amendment adds subcontractors ADS for <br />Flow monitoring and Lawson -Fisher for river sampling, that were <br />omitted from the original Agreement. Mr. Leszczynski further <br />noted that the addition of these subcontractors adds $113,715.00 <br />to the Contract for a new total of $1,300,327.00. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, Amendment No. 1 was approved and executed. <br />In response to questions from the news media, Mr. Leszczynski <br />advised that the total timeframe for this project is two (2) <br />years and that the original Agreement entered into in 1990 was <br />Just with Greeley and Hansen. He noted that the addition of the <br />subcontractors was an expected action and it is likely that there <br />will be additional costs added to this project in the future as <br />well. <br />,APPROVE PROPOSAL FOR CONTINUING CONSULTING SERVICES - DIVISION OF <br />ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES <br />Mr. Karl Kopec, Operations Manager, Division of Environmental <br />Services, in a letter to the Board, advised that the Division of <br />Environmental Services, is desirous of obtaining the services of <br />Kiefer Consulting to provide technical assistance in the start-up <br />and operation of its digested sewage sludge land application <br />
