REGULAR MEETING APRIL 22, 1991 at the Fire Department and the successful bidder will be responsible for picking up the equipment. If shipping is required the bidder will be required to pay all shipping, handling and/or associated costs. The equipment will be sold "as is" and no warranty is expressed or implied. Therefore, Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the appropriate Resolution which was prepared and submitted to the Board be adopted. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried and the following Resolution No. 14-1991 was adopted: RESOLUTION NO. 14-1991 A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS ON DISPOSAL OF UNFIT AND/OR OBSOLETE PROPERTY WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works that the following property is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and is no longer needed by the City of South Bend: FIFTY (50) COMPLETE SURVIVAIR MARK II SELF CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS, 30 MINUTE LP. SERVICES 9842 UNITS FIVE (5) SURVIVAIR MARK II 60 MINUTE HP, SERIES 9870 UNITS WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6(c) permits and establishes procedure for disposal of personal property which is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer needed by the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, that the items listed above are no longer needed by the City, are unfit for the purpose for which they were intended and have an estimated total value of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) or more. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said property be sold by sealed bids delivered to the office of the Board of Public Works on or before the date published as the bid opening date after advertising the property for sale, in accordance with Indiana Code 5-3-1. Parmerlee, Clerk APPROVE FIRE ALARM ASSISTANCE CONTRACT - UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME Fire Chief Luther Taylor submitted to the Board a Fire Alarm Assistance Contract between the City and the University of Notre Dame in which the City's Centralized Communication Center assists the University in the coordination of their fire dispatching procedures. Chief Taylor noted that the City has entered into this type of Contract with Notre Dame in the past and has found it to be a workable contract. It is noted that in consideration for providing this fire alarm service, the University agrees to pay the City the sum of one hundred thirty-five dollars ($135.00) per month for the term of the Contract which is from the present time to December 31, 1991. Therefore, Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the Contract as submitted be approved and executed. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried.
