REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 22, 1991 <br />at the Fire Department and the successful bidder will be <br />responsible for picking up the equipment. If shipping is <br />required the bidder will be required to pay all shipping, <br />handling and/or associated costs. The equipment will be sold "as <br />is" and no warranty is expressed or implied. <br />Therefore, Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the appropriate <br />Resolution which was prepared and submitted to the Board be <br />adopted. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried and the <br />following Resolution No. 14-1991 was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14-1991 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />ON DISPOSAL OF UNFIT AND/OR OBSOLETE PROPERTY <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works <br />that the following property is unfit for the purpose for which it <br />was intended and is no longer needed by the City of South Bend: <br />FIFTY (50) COMPLETE SURVIVAIR MARK II SELF CONTAINED <br />BREATHING APPARATUS, 30 MINUTE LP. SERVICES 9842 UNITS <br />FIVE (5) SURVIVAIR MARK II 60 MINUTE HP, SERIES 9870 UNITS <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6(c) permits and establishes <br />procedure for disposal of personal property which is unfit for <br />the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer <br />needed by the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend, that the items listed above are no <br />longer needed by the City, are unfit for the purpose for which <br />they were intended and have an estimated total value of One <br />Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) or more. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said property be sold by sealed <br />bids delivered to the office of the Board of Public Works on or <br />before the date published as the bid opening date after <br />advertising the property for sale, in accordance with Indiana <br />Code 5-3-1. <br />ADOPTED this 22nd day of April, 1991. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/Patricia E. Parmerlee, Clerk <br />APPROVE FIRE ALARM ASSISTANCE CONTRACT - UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME <br />Fire Chief Luther Taylor submitted to the Board a Fire Alarm <br />Assistance Contract between the City and the University of Notre <br />Dame in which the City's Centralized Communication Center assists <br />the University in the coordination of their fire dispatching <br />procedures. <br />Chief Taylor noted that the City has entered into this type of <br />Contract with Notre Dame in the past and has found it to be a <br />workable contract. It is noted that in consideration for <br />providing this fire alarm service, the University agrees to pay <br />the City the sum of one hundred thirty-five dollars ($135.00) per <br />month for the term of the Contract which is from the present time <br />to December 31, 1991. Therefore, Ms. Humphreys made a motion <br />that the Contract as submitted be approved and executed. Mrs. <br />DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />
