<br />APPROVE WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMITS:
<br />- A.E. PISTONS
<br />- SOLVAY AUTOMOTIVE, INC.
<br />- ZIKER CLEANERS
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Ms. Megan Wright, Pretreatment
<br />Coordinator, Environmental Services, submitted to the Board and
<br />requested that Industrial Discharge Permits for the above named
<br />companies be approved. Ms. Wright noted that the AE Pistons
<br />permit has been revised and that Solvay Automotive has changed
<br />their name from Hedwin Corporation. Ziker Cleaners is a new
<br />permit. Mr. Leszczynski stated that these are the standard
<br />permits and he therefore made a motion that the permits be
<br />approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried.

<br />- OF CRIME STOPPERS TO CONDUCT 4TH ANNUAL MOONLIGHT WALK - MAY

<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the above referred to requests which
<br />were submitted to the Board on February 4, 1991, have been
<br />reviewed by the appropriate City departments and bureaus and
<br />approval is recommended.
<br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendations
<br />be accepted and the requests be approved. Mrs. DeClercq seconded
<br />the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - ONE
<br />RE DEPARTMENT
<br />1) DUAL REAR WHEEL 14,500 GVW CREWCAB CHASSIS
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Phil St. Clair, Director, Division
<br />of Equipment Services, advised that after reviewing the bids
<br />received on February 4, 1991, for the above referred to crewcab
<br />chassis, it is his recommendation that the Board award the low
<br />bid of Jordan Motors, Inc., 609 East Jefferson, Mishawaka,
<br />Indiana, in the amount of $19,725.00. Mr. St. Clair noted that
<br />Jordan's bid includes a deduction for the trade-in of a 1980
<br />Chevy Step Van. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the
<br />recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded. Mr.
<br />Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - GAS SPHERES PURGING AND INSPECTION
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Karl R. Kopec, Manager of
<br />Operations, Environmental Services, recommended that the Board
<br />award the bid of Hartford Steam Boiler, 300 South Riverside
<br />Plaza, 700N, Chicago, Illinois, in the amount of $70,000.00 for
<br />the purging and inspection of gas spheres, gas piping and for the
<br />installation of sphere isolation valves at the Division of
<br />Environmental Services. Mr. Kopec noted that this was the sole
<br />bid received on January 7, 1991. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion
<br />that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded. Mrs.
<br />DeClercq seconded the motion which carried.
<br />REQUEST OF HANSEL NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICE CENTER, INC FOR
<br />DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACES - REFERRED
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Ronald M. Stewart, Director, Head
<br />Start, Hansel Neighborhood Service Center, Inc., 1045 West
<br />Washington Street, P.O. Box 3132, South Bend, Indiana, advised
<br />that the Hansel Neighborhood Services Center, Inc., Head Start
<br />Program, located at 1820 South Michigan Street, would like to
<br />request that a handicapped parking space and sign be placed on
<br />Milton Street near its intersection with South Michigan Street
<br />and along the south side of the Head Start Administrative
<br />Office.
<br />Mr. Stewart noted that this would provide convenient access,
<br />including wheel chair access, to the Head Start Office on an
