REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 7. 1992 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:32 a.m. on Monday, December 7, 1992, by Board President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and Mrs. <br />Mary H. Mueller present. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. Mueller, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held <br />on November 30, 1992, were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - ONE (1) 1500 G.P.M. TRIPLE COMBINATION <br />MOTORIZED PUMPING FIRE APPARATUS <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the above referred to equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs <br />of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were opened and publicly read: <br />PIERCE MANUFACTURING, INC. <br />P.O. Box 2017 <br />2600 American Drive <br />Appleton, Wisconsin 54913-2017 <br />Agent of Bidder: <br />MIDWEST FIRE AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT COMPANY, INC., <br />1605 Prospect Street <br />Indianapolis, Indiana 46203 <br />By: <br />MR. TOM FREDERICK <br />50956 Lincolnshire Trail <br />Granger, Indiana 46530 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Tom Frederick, Authorized Sales <br />Representative for Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., Non - <br />Collusion Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination <br />Commitment form was completed and a ten per cent (10%) <br />Bid.Bond was submitted. <br />BID: <br />One (1) Pierce Class "A" Triple Combination Custom <br />Fire Fighting Apparatus mounted on a Pierce Custom Dash <br />Chassis: <br />Cash Price: <br />$208,704.09 <br />If City will pay for chassis ($104,810.58) ninety (90) <br />days prior to the scheduled completion date of the apparatus, <br />City may deduct from the chassis: <br />- $ 4,031.18 <br />Delivery: <br />Delivery of completed apparatus to be approximately <br />three hundred (300) to three hundred sixty (360) days <br />after acceptance of contract by Pierce. <br />Lease Program: <br />Twenty per cent (20%) down payment due on delivery with <br />semi-annual payments beginning six (6) months after <br />delivery. Lease is subject to credit and documentation <br />approval. <br />The amount named in this bid is made with the understanding <br />that same shall be accepted by the City within thirty (30) <br />days from date of same. Should the City's acceptance be <br />delayed beyond said period, an extension may be granted <br />upon request, if possible. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Mueller <br />and carried, the above bid was referred to the Fire Department <br />for review and recommendation. <br />7 <br />E <br />1 <br />
