In <br />REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 9, 1992 <br />this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed <br />Quotations for the above referred to project which entails the <br />construction and materials for a 361x121x12' painted steel post <br />building. The following Quotations were opened and read: <br />BURNS CONSTRUCTION, INC. <br />P.O. Box 127 <br />Macy, Indiana 46951 <br />Quotation was signed by Mr. Jim Early. <br />QUOTATION: $17,829.00 <br />BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION <br />1433 Monroe Street <br />Rochester, Indiana 46975 <br />Quotation was signed by Mr. Bill Vance, Owner. <br />QUOTATION: $19,200.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Mueller <br />and carried, the above Quotations were referred to the Division <br />of Equipment Services for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF QUOTATION - ASBESTOS ABATEMENT - 1304 S. <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that this was the date set for the receipt <br />of Quotations for the removal of asbestos from the above referred <br />to vacant structures located in the Studebaker Corridor. The <br />following Quotation was opened and read: <br />SPECIALTY SYSTEMS OF SOUTH BEND, INC. <br />1408 Elwood Avenue, Suite 306 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46628 <br />Quotation was signed by Mr. James E. King, Vice -President. <br />QUOTATION: $785.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and <br />carried, the above Quotation was awarded. <br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE THE 1ST NIS ALLEY <br />W. OF S. MAGNOLIA <br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Common Council has submitted <br />to the Board a Vacation Petition as completed by Thomas and Diana <br />Lykowski, 1515 South Magnolia Street, to vacate the following <br />alley: <br />The first north/south alley west of S. Magnolia <br />from the south right-of-way line of an alley <br />running along the Penn Central Railroad and between <br />S. Magnolia Street and S. Nash Street, and the <br />north right-of-way line of the first east/west <br />alley south of the Penn Central Railroad for a <br />distance of approximately 379.85 feet and a width <br />of approximately 16 feet. Part situated in Oliver's <br />Second Addition in the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable <br />recommendations concerning this Vacation Petition from the Police <br />Department, Department of Sanitation and the Department of Public <br />Works. The Area Plan Commission, Fire Department and the <br />Department of Economic Development also submitted favorable <br />recommendations but all mentioned concerns about access to a <br />garage that is located on the alley to be vacated. <br />
