In REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 9, 1992 this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed Quotations for the above referred to project which entails the construction and materials for a 361x121x12' painted steel post building. The following Quotations were opened and read: BURNS CONSTRUCTION, INC. P.O. Box 127 Macy, Indiana 46951 Quotation was signed by Mr. Jim Early. QUOTATION: $17,829.00 BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION 1433 Monroe Street Rochester, Indiana 46975 Quotation was signed by Mr. Bill Vance, Owner. QUOTATION: $19,200.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and carried, the above Quotations were referred to the Division of Equipment Services for review and recommendation. OPENING AND AWARD OF QUOTATION - ASBESTOS ABATEMENT - 1304 S. Mr. Leszczynski stated that this was the date set for the receipt of Quotations for the removal of asbestos from the above referred to vacant structures located in the Studebaker Corridor. The following Quotation was opened and read: SPECIALTY SYSTEMS OF SOUTH BEND, INC. 1408 Elwood Avenue, Suite 306 South Bend, Indiana 46628 Quotation was signed by Mr. James E. King, Vice -President. QUOTATION: $785.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and carried, the above Quotation was awarded. FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE THE 1ST NIS ALLEY W. OF S. MAGNOLIA Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition as completed by Thomas and Diana Lykowski, 1515 South Magnolia Street, to vacate the following alley: The first north/south alley west of S. Magnolia from the south right-of-way line of an alley running along the Penn Central Railroad and between S. Magnolia Street and S. Nash Street, and the north right-of-way line of the first east/west alley south of the Penn Central Railroad for a distance of approximately 379.85 feet and a width of approximately 16 feet. Part situated in Oliver's Second Addition in the City of South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this Vacation Petition from the Police Department, Department of Sanitation and the Department of Public Works. The Area Plan Commission, Fire Department and the Department of Economic Development also submitted favorable recommendations but all mentioned concerns about access to a garage that is located on the alley to be vacated.
