-7- <br />REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 2, 1992 <br />Marquette, Minneapolis, MN, has submitted Supplement No. 6 to the <br />Master Lease. This Supplement involves one (1) Case 821 Wheel <br />Loader. The amount to be financed is $81,450.00 at 5.5500 over <br />five (5) years. Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the Supplement <br />be approved and executed. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />REQUESTS REFERRED: <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell <br />and carried, the following requests were referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation: <br />- FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE AT 2638 W. <br />WASHINGTON <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Josephine Haskins, 2638 West <br />Washington Street, South Bend, Indiana, on behalf of her <br />daughter Tonya Brown,,requested that the parking space in <br />front of her residence be desingated as a handicapped parking <br />space. Mrs. Haskins noted that her daughter suffered a <br />stroke and is paralyzed and in a wheelchair. <br />- OF BURKHART ADVERTISING, INC., TO EXTEND LIGHT FIXTURE AND <br />CAT WALK OVER THE PUBLIC ALLEY SOUTH OF 919 SOUTH MICHIGAN <br />ST. <br />Mr. David A. DeVlegher, Real Estate Manager, Burkhart <br />Advertising, Inc., 1335 Mishawaka Avenue, P.O. Box 536, South <br />Bend, Indiana, advised the Board that Burkhart has agreed to <br />lease space from Mr. Jack Norris, property owner at 919 South <br />Michigan Street, which will allow them to build an <br />advertising structure on the side of his building. Although <br />the sign itself will not be over the public right-of-way, the <br />light fixture and cat walk will extend over the alley south <br />of this building. Mr. DeVlegher submitted a drawing of this <br />proposed billboard and encroachment and requested permission <br />for the placement of the light fixture and cat walk over the <br />public right-of-way. <br />- TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 716 E. OHIO STREET <br />Mr. James L. Cronk, 702 East LaSalle Avenue, South Bend, <br />Indiana, advised the Board that he is interested in <br />purchasing the City -owned lot at 716 East Ohio Street. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF SUNBEAM PRODUCTIONS TO OCCUPY THE PUBLIC <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY NOVEMBER 2-3 1992 FOR FILMING OF MOVIE "RUDY" AND <br />REQUEST TO OCCUPY RIGHT-OF-WAY ON NOVEMBER 9, 17 AND 20, 1992 - <br />REFERRED <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Ms. Mikki Dobski, Project Manager, <br />submitted to the Board a tentative schedule for the filming of <br />the movie "Rudy" relative to street closings and parking <br />restrictions. Ms. Dobski noted that the schedule is subject to <br />change due to the weather and that both the Police and Traffic <br />Departments are familiar with this project. Ms. Dobski submitted <br />with the request a Certificate of Insurance from Sunbeam <br />Productions, Inc., Holy Cross Annex, Notre Dame, Indiana, naming <br />the City of South Bend as an additional insured in this regard. <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request to occupy the <br />public right-of-way at Niles and LaSalle on November 2-3, 1992 be <br />approved and that the request to occupy the right-of-way at <br />Interstate 90 on November 9, 1992, 1308 Dunham Street and 404 <br />Walnut at Western on November 17, 1992 and Arnold at Dunham on <br />November 20, 1992, be referred to the appropriate City <br />departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Mr. <br />Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />
