REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 5, 1992 CLAIM NO.: 289 PROJECT: Morris Civic Plaza PAYEE: Advanced Masonry Construction Company, Inc. 53266 Bonvale Drive South Bend, Indiana AMOUNT REQUISITIONED: $91.74 Mrs. Mueller made a motion that this Certificate for Payment be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ASBESTOS ABATEMENT AND DEMOLITION - SOUTHERNHOTEL BUILDING AND BORDEN BUILDING In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, advised that on behalf of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission, he would ask that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to projects. Mr. Littrell noted that plans and specifications are being completed by Cole Association for the abatement and by the City's Engineering Division for the demolition. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the request be approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried. REQUEST OF RILEY HIGH SCHOOL TO CONDUCT PARADE - OCTOBER 31, 1992 - REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Ms. Susan Sampson, Band Director, James Whitcomb Riley High School, advised that the marching band has the opportunity to perform in the Electric Light Parade at Disney World during spring break 1993. As the trip will be expensive, they would like permission to hold a March-a-thon on October 31, 1992 beginning at 9:00 a.m., utilizing the route submitted with the request. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. OF UNITED COMMUNITY AGAINST ALCOHOL & DRUG ABUSE TO CONDUCT WALK - OCTOBER 23, 1992 - OF ZIOLKOWSKI CONSTRUCTION TO OCCUPY THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY WAY 110 SOUTH HILL STREET UNTIL MARCH 1, 1993 It is noted that the appropriate City departments and bureaus have reviewed the above referred to requests which were submitted to the Board on September 21, 1992, and approval is recommended. Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the requests be approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were approved: NEW INSTALLATION: Handicap - two (2) spaces LOCATION: 200 Block of Western Avenue (south side) REMARKS: Requested by Mr. R.J. Burger of Ivy Tech. NEW INSTALLATION: Handicap LOCATION: 1518 North Meade REMARKS: Requested by Mr. Charles Anderson who has met all requirements.
