REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 5, 1992 <br />CLAIM NO.: 289 <br />PROJECT: Morris Civic Plaza <br />PAYEE: Advanced Masonry Construction Company, <br />Inc. <br />53266 Bonvale Drive <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />AMOUNT <br />REQUISITIONED: $91.74 <br />Mrs. Mueller made a motion that this Certificate for Payment be <br />approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ASBESTOS <br />ABATEMENT AND DEMOLITION - SOUTHERNHOTEL BUILDING AND BORDEN <br />BUILDING <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, <br />Division of Engineering, advised that on behalf of the South Bend <br />Redevelopment Commission, he would ask that the Board advertise <br />for the receipt of bids for the above referred to projects. Mr. <br />Littrell noted that plans and specifications are being completed <br />by Cole Association for the abatement and by the City's <br />Engineering Division for the demolition. Mr. Caldwell made a <br />motion that the request be approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />REQUEST OF RILEY HIGH SCHOOL TO CONDUCT PARADE - OCTOBER 31, 1992 <br />- REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Susan Sampson, Band Director, James <br />Whitcomb Riley High School, advised that the marching band has <br />the opportunity to perform in the Electric Light Parade at Disney <br />World during spring break 1993. As the trip will be expensive, <br />they would like permission to hold a March-a-thon on October 31, <br />1992 beginning at 9:00 a.m., utilizing the route submitted with <br />the request. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be <br />referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for <br />review and recommendation. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />OF UNITED COMMUNITY AGAINST ALCOHOL & DRUG ABUSE TO <br />CONDUCT WALK - OCTOBER 23, 1992 <br />- OF ZIOLKOWSKI CONSTRUCTION TO OCCUPY THE PUBLIC <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY WAY 110 SOUTH HILL STREET UNTIL MARCH 1, 1993 <br />It is noted that the appropriate City departments and bureaus <br />have reviewed the above referred to requests which were submitted <br />to the Board on September 21, 1992, and approval is recommended. <br />Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the requests be <br />approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and <br />carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />NEW INSTALLATION: Handicap - two (2) spaces <br />LOCATION: 200 Block of Western Avenue <br />(south side) <br />REMARKS: Requested by Mr. R.J. Burger <br />of Ivy Tech. <br />NEW INSTALLATION: Handicap <br />LOCATION: 1518 North Meade <br />REMARKS: Requested by Mr. Charles <br />Anderson who has met all <br />requirements. <br />
