REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 21, 1992 <br />location and all zoning requirements are being met according to <br />the site plan submitted to the Building Department. Also <br />submitted with the application,was the required Certificate of <br />Insurance in the amount of $5,000,000.00 naming the City South <br />Bend as an additional insured. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a <br />motion that the application be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF THE TURNER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR AN <br />EXTENSION OF TIME UNTIL OCTOBER 30 1992 TO OCCUPY THE PUBLIC <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY IN CONJUNCTION WITH VALLRY AMFRTrAN RANTZ RTTTT T)TAT!'_ <br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that Turner Construction Company, 230 <br />South LaSalle Street, Chicago, Illinois, Construction Manager for <br />the Valley American Bank Building renovation project, has advised <br />that due to the delays in their schedule, they are requesting an <br />extension of the temporary occupancy of the sidewalk on <br />Washington Street along Valley American Bank Building until <br />October 30, 1992. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request <br />for extension be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />REQUESTS REFERRED: <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Mueller <br />and carried, the following requests were referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation: <br />- OF ZIOLKOWSKI CONSTRUCTION TO OCCUPY THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY <br />ALONG WASHINGTON STREET AT HILL AND TO PLACE A CONSTRUCTION <br />TRAILER ON THE SITE - PRESENT TIME TO MARCH 1 1993 <br />Mr. Steve Caurro, Estimator/Project Manager, Ziolkowski <br />Construction, Inc., 1005 South Lafayette Boulevard, P.O. Box <br />1106, South Bend, Indiana, has advised that they are <br />constructing an addition to the structure located at 110 <br />South Hill Street. This addition is on the corner of Hill <br />and Washington and they are proposing to occupy the sidewalk <br />area along Washington Street by using a temporary fence. <br />This is required due to safety reasons as well as space <br />requirements. They also wish to place an office trailer in <br />the same area. The duration of occupancy will be from the <br />present time until March 1, 1993. Mr. Caurro submitted with <br />his request a diagram of the area to be closed. <br />- OF UNITED COMMUNITY AGAINST ALCOHOL & DRUG ABUSE TO CONDUCT <br />RED RIBBON DAY MARCH - OCTOBER 23 1992 <br />Ms. Gladys W. Muhammad, Community Organizer, South Bend <br />Heritage Foundation, United Community Against Alcohol & Drug <br />Abuse, 914 Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana, advised that <br />the last week of October, 1992, has been designated as <br />National Red Ribbon Week. In order to show local support in <br />presenting a unified and visible commitment toward a drug <br />free America, they are again organizing a Michiana Community <br />Wide Red Ribbon Day March to be conducted on Friday, October <br />23, 1992. <br />The United Community Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (UCADAA) <br />and South Bend Heritage Foundation and others are requesting <br />approval to hold this Third Annual Red Ribbon Day March <br />beginning at 11:00 a.m. beginning at the Colfax Cultural <br />Center, proceeding on Lincolnway East to Chapin, Chapin to <br />Western Avenue, Western Avenue to Taylor, cross the <br />intersection and proceed down Taylor to end at Coveleski <br />Regional Stadium. <br />
