REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 21, 1992 <br />APPROVE REQUESTS: <br />- TO CLOSE THE 900 BLOCK OF COLLEGE STREET FOR NEIGHBORHO <br />BLOCK PARTY - SEPTEMBER 27, 1992 <br />- OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY RIGHT TO LIFE TO OCCUPY THE PUBLIC <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY AT MICHIGAN STREET AND BARTLETT STREET TO <br />CROSS AS PART OF NATIONAL LIFE CHAIN SUNDAY - OCTOBER 4 <br />- OF SINAI SYNAGOGUE TO REMOVE PARKING RESTRICTION AT <br />1102 EAST LA SALLE IN CONJUNCTION WITH HIGH HOLY DAYS - <br />SEPTEMBER 28-29, 1992 AND OCTOBER 7, 1992 <br />- OF RILEY HIGH SCHOOL TO CONDUCT PARADE - SEPTEMBER 25. <br />FORM A <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to requests, which were <br />submitted to the Board on September 8, 1992 and September 14, <br />1992, and approval is recommended. Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made <br />a motion that the recommendations be accepted and the requests be <br />approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF TRANSIENT MERCHANTS LICENSE AP <br />AND SETTING OF <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the Board is in receipt of a <br />Peddlers/Transient Merchants/Canvassers license application as <br />submitted by Chuck Homier's American Liquidators, Homier <br />Distributing Company, 100 Commerce Drive, Huntington, Indiana, to <br />conduct business for three (3) days, October 1-3, 1992, at the <br />St. Joseph County 4H Fairgrounds. Items to be sold include new, <br />first quality tools, electronics and general merchandise. <br />Mr. Leszczynski further noted that pursuant to the license <br />ordinance requirements, the Board must accept this application <br />for filing and set a Public Hearing date. Therefore, Mr. <br />Leszczynski made a motion that the application be accepted for <br />filing and that a Public Hearing be set for 9:30 a.m., Monday, <br />September 28, 1992. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTORS BONDS <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Division of Engineering, recommended <br />that the Bond of Contractor for Frank Morimanno, be approved <br />effective September 14, 1992. Additionally, Mr. Spradlin <br />recommended that the Bond of Contractor for Mark Craig, 418 North <br />Marshall Street, Bremen, Indiana, be released effective September <br />21, 1.992. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendations be <br />accepted and the bonds be approved and/or released as indicated <br />above. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski informed members of the Board that the Department <br />of Code Enforcement has submitted two (2) lists containing one <br />hundred ten (110) miscellaneous properties that have been cleaned <br />by the Department during the period September 8, 1992 to <br />September 10, 1992. Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the lists be <br />filed. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - IRONWOOD/CONRAIL GRADE SEPARATION PROJECT <br />PROJECT NO. S612-76, PHASE II - ACCESS ROAD CONSTRUCTION <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Title Sheet for the above <br />referred to project was being presented at this time for <br />execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mr. Caldwell and carried, the Title Sheet was approved and <br />signed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, WDS of Northern Indiana, <br />
