REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 14, 1992 <br />Ms. Black noted that the Life Chain will follow the design of <br />the cross with the vertical bar being Michigan Street (U.S. <br />31) and the horizontal bar of the cross forming on Bartlett <br />Street. Ms. Black further noted that parishioners and their <br />ministers will be standing at this location from 2:30 p.m. to <br />3:30 p.m. <br />- OF SINAI SYNAGOGUE TO REMOVE NO PARKING ON LA SALLE AVENUE IN <br />CONJUNCTION WITH HIGH HOLY DAYS - SEPTEMBER 28-29 1992 AND <br />OCTOBER 7, 1992 <br />Mr. Brian S. Schuster, President, Sinai Synagogue, 1102 East <br />LaSalle Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, requested that the City <br />remove parking restrictions in the vicinity of Sinai <br />Synagogue located at 1102 East LaSalle Street on September <br />28-29, 1992 and October 7, 1992 in conjunction with'High Holy <br />Days. <br />OF RILEY HIIGH SCHOOL TO CONDUCT PARADE - SEPTEMBER 25, 1992 <br />Mr. Anthony A. Byrd, Assistant Principal, James Whitcomb <br />Riley High School, 405 East Ewing Avenue, South Bend, <br />Indiana, requested permission to conduct a parade from <br />Scottsdale Mall to Jackson Middle School field. Mr. Byrd <br />advised that the parade will leave the mall parking lot at <br />Miami and proceed South on Miami to Jackson field. This <br />event will take place on Friday, September 25, 1992 at <br />approximately 5:30 p.m. <br />- FOR HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE - 710 ALTGELD STREET <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Bracha Ofstein, 710 East <br />Altgeld Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested a handicapped, <br />parking place in front of her residence. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell <br />and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />NEW INSTALLATION: Handicap Parking Space <br />LOCATION: 801 Lincolnway West <br />REMARKS: Ms. Shirley Rouhselang is handicapped <br />and in a wheelchair. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTORS AND EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Engineering Department has <br />recommended that the Bond of Contractor for John Boley, d/b/a <br />J.B. & Sons Concrete, 2722 Wren Haven, Niles, Michigan, be <br />approved effective September 14, 1992. Additionally, the <br />Department is recommending that the Bond of Contractor for <br />Michiana Paving & Excavating, Inc., Mishawaka, Indiana, be <br />released effective October 29, 1992. Mr. Leszczynski made a <br />motion that the recommendations be accepted and the bonds be <br />approved and/or released as outlined above. Mrs. Mueller <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - MONROE PARK - REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY - HDC <br />SITE IMPROVEMENTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Title Sheet for the above <br />referred to project was being presented at this time for <br />execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. <br />Mueller and carried,, the Title Sheet was approved and signed. <br />
