3,0 <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 31, 1992 <br />Additionally, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of <br />Engineering, requested that the Board advertise for the receipt <br />of bids for the Fuel Dispensing and Storage Facility Projects at <br />the Municipal Services Facility and the Organic Resources <br />Facility as well as the HDC Block Parking Project. <br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the requests be approved. Mrs. <br />Mueller seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF OF HUMANE SOCIETY MONTHLY REPORT <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the. Board is in receipt of the <br />Monthly Report for the month of June as submitted by the Humane <br />Society of St. Joseph County, IN. Inc. It is noted that this <br />report indicates the types and numbers of animals handled by the <br />Humane Society for the City of South Bend. Mr. Caldwell made a <br />motion that the report be accepted for filing. Mrs. Mueller <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Marcia A. Qualls, Investigator, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, advised that the Bureau, in <br />conjunction with the South Shore, will be closing Bendix Drive <br />from September 1-3, 1992. Ms. Qualls noted that Bendix will be <br />closed at Voorde (northbound) and at Lathrop (southbound). <br />Further, Lincolnway West and Bendix will be closed from September <br />9-11, 1992. Goodland and Humbolt traffic will be diverted to <br />Elliott Street. Ardmore Trail and Bendix will be the detour <br />streets. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation <br />be accepted and approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />TORS AND EXCAVA' <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Division of Engineering, recommended <br />that the following bonds be approved: <br />EXCAVATION <br />- Richard Engle, d/b/a <br />Three D Construction Effective 8-31-92 <br />CONTRACTORS <br />- T. J. Ready <br />- Frank Moorhead <br />Effective 8-31-92 <br />Effective 8-31-92 <br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted <br />and the bonds be approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Department of Code Enforcement <br />has submitted two (2) lists to the Board indicating that two <br />hundred (200) miscellaneous and City -owned properties have been <br />cleaned by the Department during the period August 10, 1992 to <br />August 20, 1992. Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the lists be <br />accepted for filing. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Kevin Horton, City Controller, submitted to the Board claims <br />in the amounts of $70,483.73, $2,231,640.74 and $620,949.14 and <br />recommended approval. <br />1 <br />Additionally, Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, WDS of <br />Northern Indiana, submitted a list of one hundred forty-eight <br />
