REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 10, 1992 <br />Mrs. Dempsey noted that the award of these Quotations should <br />result in a forty per cent (40%) decrease in the board up charges <br />the City has been paying. Mrs. Dempsey noted that in 1991 the <br />Department of Code Enforcement boarded -up one hundred forty-seven <br />(147) structures and spent over $12,000.00. In response to a <br />question from the news media if this award included the <br />properties boarded -up by the Fire Department, Mrs. Dempsey <br />advised that this award applies just to the Department of Code <br />Enforcement. Therefore, Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the <br />recommendation be accepted and the Quotations as outlined above <br />be awarded. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />NORTH WALKWAY PHASE I PROJECT - EAST BANK DEVELOPMENT AREA <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell,.Director, <br />Division of, Engineering, advised that on behalf of the Department <br />of Economic Development, he is requesting that the Board <br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the East Race North Walkway <br />Phase I Project - East Bank Development Area. Mrs. Mueller made <br />a motion that the request be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />REQUESTS REFERRED: <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. Mueller, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and <br />carried, the following requests were referred to the appropriate <br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation: <br />- TO CLOSE THE 1600 BLOCK OF DEVON CIRCLE FOR NEIGHBORHOOD <br />BLOCK PARTY - SEPTEMBER 13, 1992 <br />Ms. Andrea L. Jones, 1608 Devon Circle, South Bend, Indiana, <br />submitted to the Board an Application For Use Of And Blocking <br />Of Access To Public Right -Of -Way For A Party Or Similar Event, <br />requesting that the 1600 block of Devon Circle be closed on <br />Sunday, September 13, 1992, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for a <br />neighborhood block party. Mrs. Jones noted that a rain date <br />of Sunday, September 20, 1992 has been selected. <br />- OF <br />;TH-EL TO K <br />ARKING ON BOTH SIDES OF MADISO <br />RD - SEPTEMBER 27-28, 1992 AND <br />OCTOBER 6-7, 1992 <br />Ms. Ann Harman, President, Temple Beth -El, 305 West Madison <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, advised that as in previous <br />years, they will again require parking on both sides of the <br />Temple block on West Madison Street and North Lafayette <br />Boulevard for Holy Day Services as follows: <br />SUNDAY <br />SEPTEMBER 27 <br />8:15 <br />P.M. <br />MONDAY <br />SEPTEMBER 28 <br />9:00 <br />A.M. - 1:00 P.M.
