WASHINGTON IN FRONT OF THE <br />MARRIOTT HOTEL, IN CONJUNCTION WITH RETIRED SENIOR LUNCHEON <br />AUGUST 4, 1992 <br />- OF NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF LETTER CARRIERS TO CONDUCT <br />INTERSECTION SOLICITATIONS FOR MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY - AUGUST 2 <br />1992 <br />- OF RIVER PARK BUSINESS ASSOCIATION TO CONDUCT PARADE - <br />AUGUST 22, 1992 <br />- OF PARK DEPARTMENT TO CLOSE NILES AVENUE BETWEEN <br />WASHINGTON AND CEDAR STREETS, IN CONJUNCTION WITH GUS <br />MACKER TOURNAMENT - SEPTEMBER 18-20, 1992 <br />- OF A.B.A.T.E OF INDIANA TO CONDUCT ANNUAL MOTORCYCLE <br />RIDE THROUGH SOUTH BEND - SEPTEMBER 7, 1992 <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the above referred to requests have <br />been reviewed by the appropriate City departments and bureaus and <br />approval is recommended. <br />It is noted that the requests to close Kenmore Street, 34th <br />Street, Eckman Street, Kaley Street, Academy Place, Wall Street, <br />Sycamore Street and Niles Avenue were submitted to the Board on <br />May 4, 1992, June 29, 1992, and July 6, 13, and 20, 1992. <br />The requests submitted by the Community Resource Center, Inc., <br />the National Association of Letter Carriers, the River Park <br />Business Association and A.B.A.T.E. of Indiana, were submitted to <br />the Board on July 6, 1992, July 13, 1992, June 1, 1992 and June <br />15, 1992. <br />It is further noted that Mrs. Melissa DeClercq, 130 North <br />Hawthorne Drive, South Bend, Indiana, submitted an Application <br />For Use Of And Blocking Of Access To Public Right -Of -Way For A <br />Party or Similar Event, requesting that North Hawthorne Drive, <br />from Colfax to Washington, be closed from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. <br />on August 15, 1992, for a block party. Additionally, Ms. Phyllis <br />M. Fuchs, Block Captain, 810 32nd Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />submitted an Application For Use Of And Blocking Of Access To <br />Public Right -Of -Way For A Party or Similar Event, requesting that <br />32nd street, from Wall Street to Mishawaka Avenue, be closed on <br />August 4, 1992 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for a block party. <br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendations <br />be accepted and the requests be approved.
