4 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 20, 1992 <br />Stipulations to specifications: <br />1. Dresser -Rand heads will be new not used and will be <br />manufactured to the original design. <br />2. All characteristics of Dresser -Rand heads will meet or <br />exceed the specifications with the exception that the <br />heads will have new replaceable valve seat inserts <br />(rather than the entire seat being replaceable) as in the <br />original design. <br />3. Because of its age and relative dormancy, the condition <br />of the pattern used to make the head castings may warrant <br />replacement. Charges to manufacture a new pattern would <br />be in addition to the price of the new heads and payable <br />by the City of South Bend. <br />4. A charge of $450.00 per day will be assessed if an <br />in -factory inspection of the heads is required by the <br />City of South Bend prior to shipment. <br />5. A $150.00 charge will be assessed for any written <br />certifications that are required. <br />6. Sale of the new heads will be subject to Dresser-Rand's <br />general terms of sale (form D-R 100 attached to bid) with <br />the exception that the standard warranty will be extended <br />to one (1) year in order to accommodate the <br />specifications. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Mueller <br />and carried, the above bids were referred to the Division of <br />Environmental Services for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADDENDUM <br />The following Community Development Addendum was presented to the <br />Board for approval: <br />ADDENDUM I <br />HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION <br />SOUTH BEND HERITAGE FOUNDATION <br />Addendum I add $200,000.00 to the original Contract amount <br />for new construction of low/moderate housing on West <br />Washington Street. The total contract amount is $400,000.00. <br />In response to a question from Mr. Leszczynski, Ms. Marcia <br />Townsend, Department of Economic Development, advised that these <br />additional funds will come from the Community Development Block <br />Grant. Upon a motion made by Mrs. Mueller, seconded by Mr. <br />Caldwell and carried, the above referred to Addendum was approved <br />and executed. <br />APPROVE SERVICE AGREEMENT - FLOW MONITORS - WASTEWATER TREATMENT <br />PLANT <br />Mr. John J. Dillon, Director, Division of Environmental Services, <br />submitted to the Board a Service Agreement with ADS Environmental <br />Services, Inc., Cummings Research Park, 5025 Bradford Boulevard, <br />Huntsville, Alabama. <br />Mr. Dillon recommended that the Board approve the above referred <br />to Agreement which covers the 4 series 4500 flow monitors and the <br />1 series 3500 flow monitors that were installed in the collection <br />system last year as a part of the Greeley and Hanson study. Mr. <br />Dillon noted that the warranty period has expired. Mr. <br />Leszczynski noted that the total amount of this Agreement is <br />$18,420.00 for the next twelve (12) months and covers the repair <br />and/or replacement of any equipment. <br />
