REGULAR MEETING MAY 11, 19922 1 ir7 1 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:33 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 1992, by Board President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and Mrs. Mary H. Mueller present. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Upon a motion made by Mrs. Mueller, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held on May 4, 1992, were approved. OPENING OF PROPOSALS - DEBT COLLECTION SERVICES FOR PAST DUE AMBULANCE ACCOUNTS FOR THE SOUTH BEND FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR THE YEAR 1992 This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed Proposals for the above referred to debt collection services. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following Proposals were opened and publicly read: FEDERATED COLLECTION AGENCY Suite 138, Marycrest Building 2015 West Western Avenue South Bend, Indiana 46629 Proposal was submitted'by Mr. Robert Forgash, President. PROPOSAL: Federated Collection Agency shall retain thirty-five per cent (35%) for all monies collected and no fees will be assessed on unrecovered accounts. BURNS, INC. P.O. Box 11434 South Bend, Indiana 46634 Proposal was submitted by Mr. Denis M. Burns. PROPOSAL: First Letter out to Debtor: - If repayment arrangements to the Creditor are made within ten (10) days: Charges: 10% Debts: - $1.00 to $1,000 under one (1) year - $1.00 to $1,000 one year or older - $1,000 to $2,000 - $2,000 to $3,000 - $3,000 and over Turn accounts over to the following: - Attorney - Out of State Collection Agency Bad Checks: - Charge to the Debtor - 30% on Check -Rite return or other agency - six months or older Miscellaneous: - Charge to work up court papers - Charge for court fees - Skip tracing and/or inside collection 40% 50% 30% 25 % 10% 50% plus fees $25.00 $10.00 minimum $10.00/per hour $30.00 $10/00/per hour
