Caldwell <br />s/Mary Hall Mueller <br />Attest: <br />s/Sandra Parmerlee, Clerk <br />Board of Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION TABLED - VACATION OF E. SORIN STREET, WEST OF <br />NORTH NILES AVENUE AND THE FIRST TWO (2) E/W ALLEYS SO. OF <br />VACATED HAGERTY STREET AND THE FIRST N/S ALLEY W. OF NORTH NILES <br />AVENUE <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the Board is in receipt of a Vacation <br />Petition as filed with the Common Council by Mr. C. Brian Sauers, <br />Esq., Barnes & Thornburg, 600 1st Source Bank Center, 100 North <br />Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, on behalf of Madison <br />Center, Inc., 403 East Madison, South Bend, Indiana, to vacate <br />the following property: <br />East Sorin Street from the west right-of-way line of <br />N. Niles Avenue to the St. Joseph River; the first and <br />second east -west alleys south of vacated Hagerty Street, <br />from the west right-of-way line of N. Niles Avenue, to <br />the east right-of-way line of the first north -south alley <br />west of N. Niles Avenue; and the first north -south alley <br />west of N. Niles Avenue, from the north right-of-way line <br />of E. Sorin Street to the north right-of-way line of the <br />first east -west alley south of vacated Hagerty Street. <br />Parts located in Coquillard's First Addition in the City <br />of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Board Attorney Mary H. Meuller advised members of the Board that <br />she has received a request from the attorney for the Petitioner <br />asking that the Board table making its recommendation on the <br />Vacation Petition at this time as it is the intention of Madison <br />Center to file an amended Vacation Petition. Therefore, Mr. <br />Sauers asked that the Board table this matter for the present. <br />In that regard, Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the Board table <br />its recommendation at this time concerning the proposed <br />vacation. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - DEMOLITION - 1216 1327 AND 1327 1/2 W. WASHINGTON <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, <br />Division of Engineering, recommended that the Board award the low <br />bid of B & J Excavation, Inc., 1104 West Donald Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $17,998.00 for the above referred <br />to project. It is noted that bids for this project were opened <br />by the Board on April 27, 1992. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Mueller <br />and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the bid was <br />awarded. <br />AWARD BID - TWO (2) SINGLE AXLE CAB AND CHASSIS <br />Mr. Robert Kruszynski, Manager, Department of Sanitation, advised <br />that he has reviewed the bids received on April 20, 1992, for the <br />above referred to trucks and at this time recommends that the <br />
