Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the <br />recommendation to deny the request be approved. Mrs. Mueller <br />seconded the motion which carried and the request was denied. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS TO CONDUCT ANNUAL TOOTSIE <br />ROLL SALE ON THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY - MAY 8-9, 1992 <br />It is noted that Mr. Martin J. Moorman, Chairman, St. Joe Valley <br />Knights of Columbus Councils, 60155 Ruby Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, advised that the St. Joseph Valley Chapter of the <br />Knights of Columbus, consisting of ten (10) local Councils, <br />requested permission to conduct their annual "Tootsie Roll Drive" <br />on Friday, May 8, 1992 and Saturday, May 9, 1992, utilizing the <br />public right-of-way in front of the downtown Osco Drug Store. <br />Mr. Moorman noted that they have participated in this program for <br />the past fourteen (14) years to assist agencies who work with the <br />mentally retarded in St. Joseph County. Mr. Caldwell made a <br />motion that the request be approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUESTS TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />STUDEBAKER CORRIDOR REDEVELOPMENT AREA: <br />- BID PACKAGE #1 - ASBESTOS ABATEMENT - AVANTI BUILDING <br />- BID PACKAGE #2 - UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK CLOSURE/REMOVAL <br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, advised <br />that on behalf of the Department of Economic Development, he <br />requests that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for the <br />above referred to project. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that <br />the request be approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - STUDEBAKER <br />CORRIDOR REDEVELOPMENT AREA: <br />- BID PACKAGE #1 - ASBESTOS ABATEMENT - BUILDING AT 216 W. GARST <br />ST. <br />- BID PACKAGE #2 - DEMOLITION - BUILDING AT 216 W. GARST <br />Mr. Carl P.
