4
REGULAR MEETING
APRIL 13, 1992
CBI NA -CON INC.
601 West 143rd Street
Plainfield, IL 60544
Bid was signed by Mr. Michael Yang, Contracting Engineer,
Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination
Commitment form was completed and a five per cent (5%)
Bid Bond was submitted.
BID: $99,400.00
Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Mueller
and carried, the above bids were referred to the Department of
Sanitation for review and recommendation.
AMEND BID AWARD OF DECEMBER 16 1991/ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 15-1992
- DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE VEHICLE
It was noted that the Board is in receipt of a letter from Mr.
Phil St. Clair advising that due to an error in the mileage
reading of a vehicle that is to be traded -in to Gates Chevrolet,
the amount of their bid for the purchase of a new 1992 Chevy one
ton cab/chassis needs to be amended to reflect a reduction in
their trade-in price from $5,000.00 to $3,2000.00. This
reduction now makes the total bid award $14,553.02 instead of the
$12,353.00 previously approved by the Board on December 16, 1991.
Board Attorney Mary H. Mueller reiterated that an erroneous
mileage of 93,000 miles was provided to both bidders when the
actual mileage was 193,000. This error now results in a decrease
in the amount bid for a trade-in. However, Gates Chevrolet
Corporation is still the low bidder even with this decrease.
Therefore, Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the bid award of
December 16, 1991, to Gates Chevrolet for one (1) 1992 Chevy one
(1) ton cab/chassis be amended to $14,553.02 and that the
Resolution which has been submitted be adopted. Mr. Caldwell
seconded the motion which carried and the following Resolution
No. 15-1992 was adopted:
RESOLUTION NO. 15-1992
A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC
PROVING THE TRADE-IN OR EXCHANGE OF CITY -OWNED
S PART OF PURCHASE PRICE OF PROPERTY OF SIMILA
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works
of the City of South Bend that the following described property
is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and should be
traded in or exchanged for property of a similar nature:
ONE (1) 1989 FORD F350 1 TON CAB/CHASSIS
VIN: #2FDKF37MOKCA56075
067
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works
of the City of South Bend that the following described property
is of a similar nature to the above -described property and should
be purchased, with the above -described property being traded in
so as to reduce the purchase price, in part or in full:
ONE (1) 1992 CHEVY 1 TON CAB/CHASSIS
VIN. #lGBKC34F4NJ104626
WHEREAS, I.C. 36-1-11-9 authorizes the Board of Public Works
to trade in or exchange City -owned property for partial or full
reduction in the purchase price of property of similar nature.
11
E
I
