REGULAR MEETING MARCH 16, 1992
M-200 holster is based on the advanced security features. A
thumb snap as well as a device to prevent the weapon from being
removed from the holster by unauthorized persons makes this
holster a better choice than the M-2 holster which costs less but
has no security devices.
The cost breakdown
is as follows:
230 Glock M-21's
with nite sites
$103,500.00
230 Glock M-21
13 shot magazines
$
5,340.60
230 Safariland
M-200 BBW holsters
$
9,775.00
230 Safariland
M-77V BBW double mag
pouch, velcro
$
3,565.00
SUBTOTAL:
$122,180.60
Trade-in of 240
Smith and Wesson
.357 revolvers
- $
38,400.00
TOTAL:
$
83,780.00
Assistant Chief Joel Wolvos was present and advised the Board
that it was originally their plan to trade in two hundred and
forty (240) weapons. However, at this time it appears that the
Department will be trading -in two hundred thirty-four (234).
It was noted that the bid outlined above and recommended for
award was the lowest bidder based on the second option selected.
Chief Wolvos noted that the holster selected has some additional
safety features that the other bid did not include.
Therefore, Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the recommendation be
accepted and the bid be awarded. Mr. Caldwell seconded the
motion which carried.
AWARD BID - ONE (1) 1985 PIERCE MIDI PUMPER
Fire Chief Luther Taylor advised the Board that after reviewing
the one (1) bid which was received on March 2, 1992, from the
Osolo Township Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., 24936 Buddy
Street, Elkhart, Indiana, in the amount of $57,551.00 for the
purchase of the City's 1985 Pierce Midi Pumper Model
FA-CM-1000-501 G.M.C. Top Kick, he recommends that their bid be
awarded as submitted. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the
recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded. Mr.
Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried.
AWARD BID - MAYFLOWER ROAD PHASE I - FROM OLD CLEVELAND ROAD TO
RELOCATED OLD CLEVELAND ROAD
Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering,
recommended that the Board award the bid of Rieth-Riley
Construction Company, Inc., P.O. Box 1775, South Bend, Indiana,
in the amount of $640,464.82 for the above referred to project.
It is noted that this amount takes into consideration the
alternate for a deduct in cost if this company was awarded both
this project and the Old Cleveland Road Relocated Project. The
Old Cleveland Road Project was awarded to Rieth Riley on February
24, 1992. It was further noted that bids for this project were
opened by the Board on November 4, 1991. Mr. Leszczynski made a
motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be
awarded. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
AWARD/REJECT QUOTATIONS:
- PLUMBING WORK - FIRE STATION #9 (2520 MISHAWAKA AVENUE
FIRE STATION #2 (110 E.
