C. <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 10, 1992 <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF OFFICE OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS TO TEMPORARILY <br />CHANGE MICHIGAN STREET TO ST. PATRICK'S BOULEVARD - MARCH 17 <br />1992 <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Jon Williams, Events <br />Coordinator, Office of Community Affairs, requested permission to <br />change Michigan Street at Washington to St. Patrick's Boulevard <br />on Tuesday, March 17, 1992. Mr. Williams noted that Mayor Kernan <br />and other community officials will take part in the street naming <br />ceremony at 9:15 a.m. on that date. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request <br />was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF COALITION FOR UNITY TO CONDUCT WALK - <br />SEPTEMBER 27, 1992 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request which was <br />submitted to the Board on February 3, 1992, and approval is <br />recommended. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the <br />recommendations be accepted and the request be approved. Mrs. <br />DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTORS AND EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the Board is in receipt of <br />recommendations from the Engineering Department that the <br />following Contractors and Excavation Bonds be approved: <br />CONTRACTORS BONDS <br />- Powell Construction Company, Inc. <br />1713 South Bend Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />- Steve Hartle, d/b/a <br />Restoration & Construction <br />EXCAVATION BOND <br />Eff. 2-10-92 <br />Eff. 2-10-92 <br />- Steve Hartle, d/b/a Eff. 2-10-92 <br />Restoration & Construction <br />Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the recommendations be accepted <br />and the bonds, as outlined above, be approved. Mr. Caldwell <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - SECONDHAND DEALERS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following two (2) secondhand <br />dealers license applications have been received: <br />NAME: <br />BY: <br />ADDRESS: <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: <br />NAME: <br />BY: <br />ADDRESS: <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: <br />CASEY'S FURNITURE MART <br />Frances J. Billings <br />520 West Western Avenue <br />Used furniture <br />WESTERN ELECTRONICS <br />Vendel Vegh <br />1530 Western Avenue <br />TV's, electronics, tools, guns <br />It is noted that favorable recommendations have been received <br />from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, Police Department and Fire Department on the above <br />applications. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by <br />Mr. Caldwell and carried, the above license applications were <br />approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for <br />issuance of licenses. <br />
