REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 3, 1992 <br />1992. Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the lists be accepted for <br />filing. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the Certificate of Insurance for Petroleum <br />Equipment, Inc., 12875 McKinley Highway, Mishawaka, Indiana, was <br />accepted for filing. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Juan A. Manigault, Executive <br />Director, WDS of Northern Indiana, submitted one hundred <br />seventy-one (171) claims totalling $33,282.97 and recommended <br />approval. Additionally, the Deputy Controllers Office has <br />submitted claims in the amounts of $1,306,301.15, $2,847,734.66 <br />and $2,174,902.29 and recommended approval. Mr. Leszczynski made <br />a motion that the claims be approved and the reports be filed. <br />Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion which carried. <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that since the City Controller is no <br />longer a member of the Board of Public Works, he would recommend <br />that the City Controller sign off on the claim sheets before they <br />are submitted to the Board for approval. There being no <br />objection by members of_the Board to this recommendation, the <br />City Controller's office will be so notified of this request. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR: <br />QUESTIONS REGARDING IRONWOOD ROAD RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT <br />In response to questions from the news media concerning the <br />City's Ironwood Road reconstruction project and how it relates to <br />the St. Joseph County plans for widening Ironwood Road, Mr. <br />Leszczynski stated that the two (2) plans tie into each other. <br />He noted however that the total cost of this project is seven <br />million dollars ($7,000,000.00) and much acquisition is needed. <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that it is likely that this project will <br />be broken out into four (4) or five (5) smaller projects and <br />would likely take place over four (4) or five (5) years. It was <br />noted that Federal Aid Urban funds which involve an eighty (80) <br />twenty (20) match will be utilized. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the meeting adjourned at 9:51 a.m. <br />.
