44D <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 29, 1993 <br />ROGER L. SMITH (COMPUTER SWAP MEET AT CENTURY CENTER) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the Board's <br />Public Hearing regarding the license application for a Transient <br />Merchants license for Roger L. Smith, 8863 East Black Point Road, <br />Syracuse, Indiana. It is noted that Mr. Smith has applied for <br />this license in order to conduct a computer swap meet at the <br />Century Center, Convention Hall B, on December 12, 1993, from 8:00 <br />a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br />Mr. Smith was present and informed members of the Board that the <br />swap meet he is conducting is similar to swap meets held for such <br />things as car parts. This swap meet will involve photographic as <br />well as computer equipment and local and outside vendors will <br />participate. Equipment will be new and used and vendors will sell <br />and/or trade equipment. <br />Board Attorney Mary H. Mueller informed members of the Board that <br />this event requires a group license as defined under the newly <br />amended Transient Merchant license ordinance. <br />There being no one else present wishing to address the Board <br />concerning this matter and no written Memorandum in support of or <br />in opposition to the issuance of the license being received, Mr. <br />Leszczynski closed the Public Hearing on this matter. <br />It is noted that the Board is in receipt of favorable <br />recommendations concerning this license application from the <br />Police Department, Fire Department and the Building Department. <br />Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the application be <br />approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for <br />issuance of a license. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING AND APPROVAL OF TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - SHARON <br />H. DRYBROUGH TRANEX CAR SALES INC. D/B/A BUDGET CAR SALES (SALE <br />OF VEHICLES AT K-MART PARKING LOT) <br />Mr. Leszczynski informed members of the Board that this was the <br />date set for the Board's Public Hearing regarding the license <br />application for a Transient Merchants license for Ms. Sharon H. <br />Drybrough, Tranex Car Sales, Inc., d/b/a Budget Car Sales, 5314 <br />West 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. It is noted that this <br />Public Hearing is being conducted pursuant to the requirements of <br />the licensing ordinance governing Transient Merchant licenses. <br />It was further noted that Ms. Drybrough has applied for this <br />license in order to conduct a sale of used vehicles in the parking <br />lot of K-Mart, located at 4640 South Michigan Street from <br />Wednesday, December 8, 1993 through Saturday, December 11, 1993. <br />Mrs. Drybrough was present and informed members of the Board that <br />this is a sale of used vehicles to be held in the K-Mart parking <br />lot at 4640 South Michigan just off the bypass. <br />Board Attorney Mary H. Mueller advised members of the Board that <br />this is not a group event but strictly a transient merchant. Mrs. <br />Mueller also noted that the Board is in receipt of favorable <br />recommendations concerning this license application from the <br />Police Department, Fire Department and Building Department. <br />There being no one else present wishing to address the Board <br />concerning this matter and no written Memorandum in support of or <br />in opposition to the issuance of the license having been received, <br />Mr. Leszczynski closed the Public Hearing on this matter. <br />Further, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the license application <br />
