344, <br />REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 11, 1993 <br />It was noted that temporary office space is required for the <br />office of the City Clerk currently housed on the 4th floor of the <br />County -City Building. Due to unsafe working conditions in the <br />current offices on the fourth floor, the employees of the City <br />Clerk's office are being temporarily relocated to the office space <br />in the Trigon Building. <br />Board Attorney Mary Mueller informed members of the Board that <br />this lease is for a three (3) month period with an option for a <br />three (3) month extension. The rent for this office space is <br />$933.33 per month. <br />Mrs. Manier made a motion that the Board declare that an emergency <br />exists in that temporary office space is required for the office <br />of the City Clerk. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which <br />carried. Further, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the Letter of <br />Agreement for the lease of office space in the Trigon Building for <br />the office of the City Clerk be approved and executed. Mrs. <br />Manier seconded the motion which carried. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 39-1993 - TRADE-IN OF OBSOLETE VEHICLE <br />Fire Chief Luther Taylor advised the Board that he requests that <br />the Board declare obsolete a 1986 Chevrolet which will be traded <br />in to Eby Ford of Goshen, Indiana, for one (1) 1992 Ford Tempo. <br />Board Attorney Mary Mueller reminded members of the Board that Eby <br />Ford was the successful bidder in 1993 for program vehicles to be <br />purchased by the City. The amount of this vehicle is $8,026.00 <br />and Eby Ford has offered a trade allowance on the obsolete vehicle <br />of $800.00 for a total price of $7,226.00. <br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the appropriate <br />Resolution which has been prepared be adopted. Mr. Caldwell <br />seconded the motion which carried and the following Resolution No. <br />39-1993 was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 39-1993 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />APPROVING THE TRADE-IN OR EXCHANGE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY <br />ON PROPERTY OF SIMILAR NATURE <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend that the following described property is <br />unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and should be <br />traded for property of a similar nature: <br />ONE (1) 1986 CHEVROLET - VIN. ##1G1JC69PXGJ261969 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend that the following described property is <br />of a similar nature to the above -described property and should be <br />purchased with the above -described property being traded -in for <br />the following property: <br />ONE (1) 1992 FORD TEMPO GL 4 DOOR <br />VIN. ##2FAPP36XXNB200508 <br />WHEREAS, I.C. 36-1-11-9 authorizes the Board of Public Works <br />to trade in or exchange City -owned property for partial or full <br />reduction in the purchase price of property of similar nature. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1.
