<br />REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 11, 1993
<br />Mr. Littrell recommended that the Board award the low Quotation
<br />submitted by McIntyre and Jones Construction Company, Inc., 2526
<br />West Sixth Street, Mishawaka, Indiana, for a total amount of
<br />$13,679.90. Mrs. Manier made a motion that this recommendation be
<br />accepted and the Quotation be awarded. Mr. Caldwell seconded the
<br />motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS SALE OF
<br />ABANDONED VEHICLES
<br />Mrs. Kathy Dempsey, Director, Department of Code Enforcement,
<br />requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately
<br />eleven (11) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Super
<br />Auto Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, South Bend,
<br />Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been stored more
<br />than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for
<br />auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the
<br />above request was approved and a date of October 25, 1993, was
<br />established for the receiving and opening of sealed bids.
<br />REQUESTS REFERRED:
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and
<br />carried, the following requests were referred to the appropriate
<br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation:
<br />FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE - 1514 CATALPA
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Pearl Bishop, 1514 Catalpa
<br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, advised that her husband is
<br />blind and handicapped and they would like the parking space
<br />in front of their residence designated as a handicapped
<br />parking space.
<br />OF POTAWATOMI ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY INC. TO MAKE WALL STREET
<br />BETWEEN IRONWOOD AND GREENLAWN AVENUE ONE-WAY FOR ZOO BOO
<br />OCTOBER 28-30 1993 AND ZOOLTIDEr DECEMBER 7-19 1993
<br />Ms. Karolyn Kunz, Operations Manager, Potawatomi Zoological
<br />Society, Inc., 500 South Greenlawn, P.O. Box 1764, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, requested that Wall Street, from Ironwood
<br />Drive to Greenlawn Avenue be designated one-way traffic, from
<br />5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., in conjunction with Zoo Boo to be
<br />held from Thursday, October 28, 1993 through Saturday,
<br />October 30, 1993 and during Zooltide to be conducted from
<br />Tuesday, December 7, 1993 through Sunday, December 19, 1993.
<br />OF DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC
<br />RIGHT-OF-WAY - STATE THEATER FIRE ESCAPE
<br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Tom Eddington, Department
<br />of Economic Development, advised that the Department requests
<br />permission to encroach over the public right-of-way in the
<br />alley south of the State Theater. A newly constructed fire
<br />escape is to be installed at this location. The previous
<br />fire escape was in the same location but was removed a few
<br />years ago. Included with this request Mr. Eddington
<br />submitted three (3) drawings illustrating the location and
<br />dimensions of the fire escape.
<br />APPROVE CONTRACTORS BONDS
<br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Division of Engineering recommended
<br />that the following Contractors Bonds be approved:
<br />- G-H Asphalt Concrete Excavating Eff. 10-11-93

<br />Mishawaka, Indiana
