REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 27, 1993 <br />Sunday, which was submitted to the Board on September 7, 1993, <br />has been reviewed by the necessary City departments and bureaus <br />and approval is recommended. <br />Finally, the Board is in receipt of a request from Mr. Doug <br />Thomas, Producer, Golden Dome Productions, P.O. Box 1616, South <br />Bend, Indiana. Mr. Thomas noted that Golden Dome Productions is <br />currently working on a non -broadcast video production for the Tire <br />Rack of South Bend. They would like to begin filming at the <br />Morris Civic Auditorium on Thursday, September 30, 1993, beginning <br />at 1:00 p.m. In the case of rain, the shooting will be done on <br />Friday, October 1, 1993 or Wednesday, October 5, 1993. <br />The filming would involve two (2) areas. The first area would be <br />the Morris Civic Plaza area. They will film one of their cars on <br />the Plaza sidewalk with the Morris Civic as the background. The <br />other area would involve the north alley with the old brick alley <br />wall as the background. Mr. Thomas noted that it is estimated <br />that they will utilize the public right-of-way, in each area, for <br />less than thirty (30) minutes. They will not obstruct traffic <br />from either one of these areas and the Morris Civic will not be <br />identified. Mr. Leszczynski advised that this request has been <br />reviewed by the appropriate City departments and bureaus and <br />approval is recommended. <br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the above outlined <br />three (3) requests be approved. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />PETITION FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A RESTRICTED RESIDENTIAL PARKING <br />ZONE - 600 BLOCK WEST CALVERT STREET - REFERRED <br />Mr. Joseph F. Palkowitch, 611 West Calvert Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, submitted to the Board a Petition for the Establishment <br />of a Restricted Residential Parking Zone in the 600 block of West <br />Calvert Street. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that this Petition be <br />referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting in order that the <br />appropriate traffic study can be conducted. Mr. Leszczynski <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTORS BOND <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Division of Engineering, recommended <br />that the Board approve the Bond of Contractor for John Ward, <br />effective September 27, 1993. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that <br />this bond be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and <br />carried, a Certificate of Insurance for Greeley & Hansen, 100 <br />South Wacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois, was accepted for filing. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Department of Code Enforcement <br />has submitted two (2) lists containing one hundred one (101) City - <br />owned and miscellaneous properties which were cleaned by the <br />Department from September 12, 1993 to September 16, 1993. Mr. <br />Leszczynski made a motion that the lists as submitted be accepted <br />for filing. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Kevin Horton, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount <br />of $2,428,173.92 and recommended approval. Additionally, Mr. Juan <br />Manigault, Executive Director, WDS of Northern Indiana, submitted <br />
