<br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that these Change Orders be approved.
<br />Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried.
<br />Mr. Caldwell inquired of Mr. Carl P. Littrell., Director, Division
<br />of Engineering, when this project is expected to be -completed.
<br />Mr. Littrell noted that, weather permitting, the project should be
<br />completed this week.
<br />AWARD BID - MOWERS AND OTHER MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR
<br />THE OPERATION OF THE BLACKTHORN GOLF COURSE

<br />the Board that on September 20, 1993, the Board received three (3)

<br />Mr. Littrell noted that this bid is divisible. However, he is
<br />recommending that the Board award all items bid to Illinois Lawn
<br />Equipment, Inc., 16450 South 104th Avenue, Orland Park, Illinois,
<br />for a total cost of $67,060.00. Illinois Lawn is the lowest
<br />bidder on four (4) of the six items which include Item R6, for an
<br />acceptable "equal" alternate Encore Blower, two (2) at $849.00
<br />each, Item R8, for the specified Cushman three -wheeled Turf
<br />Truckster, one at $10,450.00 each, Item R15b, a Jacobsen LF-100
<br />four wheel drive tractor and accessories, two (2) at $19,261.00
<br />each and Item R21a, a Redmax BC221DL Trimmer, two (2) at $252.00
<br />each.
<br />Mr. Littrell further noted that on Item R10, the lowest price bid
<br />was submitted by Kenney Machinery Corporation, 8420 Zionsville
<br />Road, Indianapolis, Indiana, for an alternate Toro 1800
<br />Topdresser. Illinois Lawn was the next lowest bidder at $6,379.00
<br />for the specified Turfco 85423 F12D Topdresser with accessories.
<br />Both items are manufactured to work in combination with a tractor
<br />for motive and operational power. The Toro 1800 must be matched
<br />with the Toro Workman tractor, which is not recommended for
<br />purchase. The Turfco item can be matched with the Cushman Turf
<br />Truckster which is recommended.
<br />Further, on item R14, J.W. Turf, Inc., 14N937 US Highway 20,
<br />Hampshire, Illinois, was the low bidder for their alternate John
<br />Deere 22 Walking Greens Mowers at $3,087.00 each including the
<br />discount offered. Illinois Lawn bid $3,169.00 each for the
<br />specified Jacobsen 62244, GK422 22" mower. The difference is
<br />$82.00 each. The Blackthorn Golf Course maintenance staff has had
