REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 7, 1993 <br />Mr. Johnny Collins, 1317 West Linden Avenue, South Bend, <br />Indiana, in the amount of $355.00. It was noted that the <br />property has an appraisal value of $300.00. Mr. Leszczynski <br />made a motion that this bid be accepted and that the City <br />Attorney's office prepare the appropriate Purchase Agreement <br />for this sale. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />717 SOUTH ARNOLD <br />Mr. Jose R. Duran, 719 South Arnold Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, submitted a bid in the amount of $250.00 for the <br />above referred to property. Mr. Leszczynski noted that this <br />property was appraised at $250.00. Therefore, Mr. Caldwell <br />made a motion that this bid be accepted and that the City <br />Attorney's office be instructed to prepare the appropriate <br />Purchase Agreement. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />1614 SCOTT <br />Mrs. Mary C. Smith, 325 North Cushing Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, submitted to the Board a bid in the amount of <br />$150.00 for this property. Mr. Leszczynski noted that this <br />property has been appraised at $430.00. <br />Mrs. Smith informed members of the Board that she and her <br />husband have been maintaining this lot and feel that because <br />of their efforts in the past, the amount of $150.00 is a fair <br />amount to offer. <br />Board Attorney Mary H. Mueller informed members of the Board that <br />pursuant to I.C. 36-1-11-5, if a bid received is not equal to or <br />in excess of the appraised value of the property, the property has <br />to be offered to all of the abutting land owners. <br />Mrs. Mueller informed Mrs. Smith that she will prepare an <br />appropriate form letter to be sent to all abutting property <br />owners giving them a specific amount of time in which to <br />respond whether or not they are interested in purchasing this <br />property. Mrs. Smith was informed that she will be kept <br />appraised of the situation. <br />1118 NORTH BURNS <br />Mr. Peter G. Hauser, 1118 North Burns, South Bend, Indiana, <br />submitted to the Board a sealed bid in the amount of $50.00 <br />for the City -owned lot at 1118 North Burns. It is noted that <br />this property has an appraised value of $750.00. <br />Again, Board Attorney Mary Mueller indicated that because a <br />bid was not received for an amount equal to or in excess of <br />the appraised value of the property, letters will be sent to <br />all abutting property owners advising them of the sale of <br />this property. <br />Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the bids received for <br />the property at 1118 North Burns and 1614 Scott Street be rejected <br />at this time as they did not meet or exceed the appraised value of <br />the property and pursuant to Indiana statute the Clerk advise all <br />abutting property owners of the sale of these properties.
