r'7 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 17, 1993 <br />Removal Service license application has been received: <br />1. Alexander Rowell <br />1248 South Bend Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />It was noted that an inspection of the truck to be used was <br />conducted by the.Solid Waste Bureau and the applicant was found to <br />be in compliance. Additionally, the Department of Code <br />Enforcement has reviewed this application and recommends approval. <br />Therefore, Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the application be <br />approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE BOND OF CONTRACTOR <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Division of Engineering, recommended <br />that the Board approve the following Bond of Contractor: <br />1. Lorenzo Johnson Effective May 17, 1993 <br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and <br />the Bond be approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - SEWER MAIN EXTENSION TO COCA COLA BOTTLING <br />(IRELAND ROAD) <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the Title Sheet for the above referred <br />to project was being presented at this time for execution. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and carried, <br />the above referred to Title Sheet was approved and signed. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and <br />carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION: HANDICAP PARKING SPACE <br />LOCATION: 1873 North Johnson - Hamilton side <br />REMARKS: Ms. Anita Ayers has met all the <br />requirements. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Kevin Horton, City Controller, submitted to the Board claims <br />in the amount of $895,594.10 and recommended approval. Mrs. <br />Mueller made a motion that the claims be approved and the report <br />as submitted be filed. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR: <br />QUESTIONS REGARDING ENFORCEMENT OF NOISE ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS <br />Mr. Tom Howell, Radio Station U93, informed the Board that at a <br />recent meeting of the northwest side neighborhood group, <br />individuals indicated that the City only collects a fraction of <br />the tickets issued for noise violations. Mr. Caldwell informed <br />Mr. Howell that Assistant City Attorney John Broden handles these <br />matters and has worked diligently to collect fines. Mr. Caldwell <br />noted that an individual has thirty (30) days to pay the fine. If <br />the fine is not paid after that length of time the penalty is <br />increased to fifty dollars ($50.00). If the ticket is not paid <br />after that time, the matter proceeds to Small Claims Court <br />
