9�s <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 3, 1993 <br />and carried, the following requests were referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation: <br />OF WEST SIDE MEMORIAL COMMITTEE TO CONDUCT ANNUAL <br />MEMORIAL DAY PARADE --MAY 31, 1993 <br />Ms. Adeline Jaskowiak, Secretary, West Side Memorial <br />Committee, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to <br />conduct the annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 31, <br />1993. <br />Ms. Jaskowiak noted that the parade will assemble at 7:45 <br />a.m. on May 31, 1993 at Olive and Ford Street and will move <br />out at 8:30 a.m. proceeding west on Ford Street past Pierre <br />Navarre School to disband at Summit Drive. The parade will <br />last approximately one and one-half (1 1/2) hours. <br />- OF SAINT JOSEPH'S HI <br />SEPTEMBER 19, 1993 <br />AL WALK-A-THON - <br />Ms. Barbara Jemielity, Principal, Saint Joseph's High School, <br />1441 North Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested <br />permission to conduct a Walk -A -Thou at 1:00 p.m. on September <br />19, 1993, as first choice, or Sunday, October 3, 1993, as <br />second choice, utilizing the route which was submitted with <br />the request. <br />Ms. Jemielity noted that this event is sponsored by Saint <br />Joseph's High School to raise funds for the benefit of the <br />school's co -curricular activities. The participants will be <br />Saint Joseph's High School students, parents, alumni, <br />administrators and School Board. Approximately eight hundred <br />(800) individuals are expected to participate. <br />KID'S KLUB PARADE - JULY 10, 1993 <br />Ms. Doris E. Zeiger, Director, Kid's Klub, Sonlight <br />Fellowship Wesleyan Church, 3712 South Michigan Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct the annual <br />Kid's Klub Parade on Saturday, July 10, 1993, raindate of <br />July 17, 1993, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Ms. Zeiger noted that <br />this year they will have a patriotic theme and encourage the <br />children to decorate their bikes and wear costumes for which <br />they will be awarded prizes. The children are accompanied by <br />their parents and other adults. Mr. Zeiger submitted with <br />the request the route to be utilized for this event. <br />APPROVE EXCAVATION BOND <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Division of Engineering, submitted to <br />the Board a Bond for Excavation in Streets for Ideal Consolidated, <br />Inc., 806 West Sample Street, South Bend, Indiana, and recommended <br />that the bond be approved effective May 3, 1993. Mr. Caldwell <br />made a motion that the bond be approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Department of Code Enforcement <br />has submitted two (2) lists containing twenty-eight (28) City <br />owned and miscellaneous properties which were cleaned by the <br />Department from April 19, 1993 to April 23, 1993. Mr. Leszczynski <br />made a motion that the lists as submitted be accepted for filing. <br />Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried. <br />
