1 `1' U'
REGULAR MEETING
APRIL 26, 1993
Department of Redevelopment to relocate an overhead power line
currently located in the Blackthorn Golf Course project site.
This Easement will cross Nimtz Parkway just east of the U.S. 31
Bypass and will complete the path for the relocated line. Mr.
Riggs submitted an Easement which has been reviewed by both the
Department of Public Works and the City Attorney's office and
recommended favorable consideration by the Board on this matter.
Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the Easement be approved. Mr'.
Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
APPROVE WEST IRELAND SANITARY SEWER REIMBURSEMENT
Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, informed
members of the Board that on March 18, 1993, the Division of
Engineering received a request for payment for the oversizing of
an eight inch (811) sewer to fifteen inch (1511) with a total
footage of one thousand three hundred feet (13001). The cost
differential for the upsize in pipe diameter is $3.69 per lineal
foot. In review of air test documentation it was noted that the
length of pipe tested and length of pipe requested for upsize
charges differed. On April 7, 1993, the Division of Engineering
field verified the overall length to be one thousand two hundred
fifty eight feet (12581) instead of the one thousand three hundred
feet (1300') stated on the reimbursement request. Mr. Leszczynski
noted that this matter relates to the installation of a sewer to
the Superior Waste facility. Therefore, Mr. Littrell recommended
that the Board approve payment of $4,642.02 as reimbursement for
oversize pipe materials installed by Dye Plumbing & Heating, Inc.,
3535 Monroe Street, LaPorte, Indiana. Mr. Leszczynski made a
motion that this request be approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the
motion which carried.
AWARD BIDS - STREET MATERIALS
It is noted that on April 5, 1993, the Board of Public Works
opened bids for the following street materials:
1.
HAC SURFACE BF LIMESTONE 411
15,000
TON
2.
HAC SURFACE #11 LIMESTONE MAC 10
5,000
TON
3.
HAC SURFACE #11 BF SLAG
15,000
TON
4.
HAC SURFACE #11 BF SLAG MAC 10
5,000
TON
5.
HAC SURFACE #11 BF SLAG
15,000
TON
6.
HAC SURFACE #11 BF SLAG FIBER
5,000
TON
7.
HAC SURFACE MOD.
