REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 19, 1993 <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Anita Ayers, 1873 North <br />Johnson, South Bend, Indiana, requested that a parking space <br />at the corner of Johnson and Hamilton Streets be designated <br />as a handicapped parking space for her mother who lives at <br />1873 Johnson as they have difficulty parking in front of <br />their residence. <br />FOR USE OF THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR INSTALLATION OF LIGHT <br />POLES AT 1081 RIVERSIDE DRIVE, 1093 RIVERSIDE DRIVE AND 1121 <br />RIVERSIDE BOULEVARD <br />Mr. J. Edward Talley, 1081 Riverside Drive Boulevard, South <br />Bend, Indiana, requested permission to install a hollowspun <br />post and octagonal junior fixture on the public right-of-way <br />at 1081 Riverside Drive Boulevard, 1093 Riverside Drive <br />Boulevard and 1121 Riverside Drive Boulevard. All hollowspun <br />posts shall be four (4) feet below grade and twelve (12) feet <br />above grade to the base of the octagonal junior fixture. The <br />height of the fixture shall be thirty (30) inches. <br />Mr. Talley also requested information regarding the <br />jurisdiction of the South Bend Park Board over Riverside <br />Drive Boulevard. He noted that this would concern the status <br />and areas of responsibility, still in force, regarding <br />Ordinance 1701 dated December 8, 1913. <br />OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY MEMORIAL SOCIETY TO CLOSE WASHINGTON <br />STREET, FROM MAIN TO LAFAYETTE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH MEMORIAL <br />DAY ACTIVITIES - MAY 31, 1993 <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Virginia Hanson, Secretary, St. <br />Joseph County Memorial Society, 19459 Orchard Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana, requested that Washington Street, between Main <br />Street and Lafayette Boulevard, be closed for approximately <br />one (1) hour on Monday, May 31, 1993, beginning at 2:00 p.m. <br />in conjunction with Memorial Day activities to be conducted <br />in front of the Sailors and Soldiers Monument on the <br />Courthouse lawn. <br />OF OVERHEAD PROTECTION, INC. TO INSTALL AN AWNING AT 321- <br />323 SOUTH MAIN STREET <br />Mr. Beare C. Philipson, President, Overhead Protection, Inc., <br />1700 Union Street, Mishawaka, Indiana, requested permission <br />to install an awning over the public right-of-way at 321-323 <br />South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Philipson noted <br />that the awning will be forty feet (401) eight inches (811) <br />wide and project out from the building three feet (31). The <br />awning is a welded aluminum frame with vinyl cover bolted to <br />the building wall, eight feet (81) eight inches (811) above <br />ground. Mr. Philipson submitted a diagram of the awning with <br />his request. <br />APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTORS AND EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mr. Larry D.
