REGULAR MEETING. <br />MARCH 8, 1993 <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Paul T. Kunz, Grand Senior Warden, Grand <br />Encampment of Indiana Independent Order of Odd Fellows, 56090 Currant <br />Road, Mishawaka, Indiana, advised that on May 16, 1993, the Odd <br />Fellows and Rebekahs will make their annual pilgrimage to the grave of <br />Schuyler Colfax in the City Cemetery. The group will assemble at Odd <br />Fellows Temple, 1625 North Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, at 1:30 <br />p.m. and the motorcade will leave for the cemetery. Mr. Kunz noted <br />that they anticipate that twenty-five (25) vehicles will participate <br />in this motorcade. As in the past, Mr. Kunz has requested that the <br />Police provide a escort for the motorcade. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and <br />carried, the following three (3) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. REMOVAL OF: RESIDENTIAL PARKING <br />REVISED TO: NO PARKING <br />LOCATION: Esther Street between Ruskin and <br />Hildreth (east side) <br />REMARKS: There are no houses on the east side of <br />the street. IUSB has primary entrance <br />to the parking lot in that area. Esther <br />Street is 29' wide. No parking on east <br />side is needed for safe traffic flow. <br />2. NEW INSTALLATION: HANDICAP PARKING SPACE <br />LOCATION: 2214 SOUTH BROOKFIELD <br />REMARKS: Ms. Irene Kalka has met all the <br />requirements. <br />3. REVISED TO: NO PARKING TOW ZONE <br />LOCATION: 200 block South Taylor (west side) <br />REMARKS: Requested by South Bend Police <br />Department <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - SECONDHAND DEALER <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the following secondhand dealer license <br />application has been received: <br />NAME: GERT'S CLOSET <br />BY: Gertrude E. Schaal <br />ADDRESS: 2709 Mishawaka Avenue <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Used clothing <br />Mr. Caldwell further advised that favorable recommendations have been <br />received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, Police Department and Fire Department concerning the <br />above application. <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. Mueller, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and <br />carried, the above license application was approved and referred to <br />the Deputy Controller's office for issuance of a license. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Kevin C. Horton, City Controller, submitted to the Board <br />claims in the amount of $283,468.60 and recommended approval. <br />Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the claims be approved <br />
