REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 1, 1993 <br />Also, permission is requested to place banners over Mishawaka <br />Avenue, Greenlawn Avenue, Ironwood Drive, and Jefferson Boulevard <br />near the Zoo to announce Country Fest for fourteen (14) days before <br />the event takes place. <br />Ms. Kunz noted that they have secured the use of the entire park <br />for Country fest and have already made the appropriate applications <br />for beer permits for the day. As with other events, they are <br />working with Civil Defense Weather Watch to handle their parking <br />which will overflow into the IUSB parking lot. <br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the requests be <br />referred to the appropriate City departments and bureaus for review <br />and recommendation. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE, MEMORIAL HOSPITAL OF SOUTH <br />BEND AND WSBT STATIONS TO CONDUCT LOTH ANNUAL MARATHON, 5K <br />RUN, 10K RUN, FUN WALK AND TRIATHLON - JUNE 5, 1993 — REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Joyce Fox, Events Coordinator, South <br />Bend Tribune, 225 West Colfax Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, advised <br />that on behalf of the Sunburst sponsors, The South Bend Tribune, <br />Memorial Hospital of South Bend and WSBT Stations, she is <br />requesting permission to conduct the loth Annual Marathon, 5K run, <br />10K run, Fun Walk and Triathlon on Saturday, June 5, 1993. Ms. Fox <br />submitted with the request the various routes to be utilized for <br />these events. <br />Ms. Fox noted that Memorial Hospital's Health/Start, a free dental <br />and medical clinic for needy children, is the main beneficiary of <br />Sunburst proceeds. This year's special community project will be <br />the Watershed's planned extension of the River Walk. Therefore, <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the request be referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried. <br />RUBBER TIRE <br />- ONE (1) <br />- DIVISION OF <br />ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES <br />Mr. Robert Kruszynski, Bureau Manager, Division of Environmental <br />Services, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids <br />for one (1) 1-3 yard Rubber Tire Loader for Organic Resources and <br />one (1) Rubber Tire Excavator for the Sewer Construction <br />Department. Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the request be <br />approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEII <br />1) RUBBER TIRE EXCAV. <br />APPROVE RUBBISH AND GARBAGE REMOVAL LICENSE APPLICATIONS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following two (2) Rubbish and <br />Garbage Removal Service license applications have been received: <br />1. Karl Chester McGhee <br />1020 Sorin Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />2. Tommy Swinson <br />615 Wenger Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />It was noted that inspections of the trucks to be used have been <br />conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and the applicants were found <br />to be in compliance.
