fv <br />D�U <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 1, 1993 <br />Board re -advertise for bids for the construction of the above <br />project. This will be a re -bid of the project which has been <br />appreciably revised to seek bids within the budget constraints and <br />to also better serve as a maintenance facility for the Blackthorn <br />Golf Course. <br />It is also noted that the appropriate Title Sheet for this project <br />was submitted to the Board for execution. <br />Therefore, Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the bids received on <br />August 31, 1992, for this project be rejected, that the request to <br />re -advertise for the receipt of bids be approved and that the Title <br />Sheet for this project be approved and executed. Mr. Caldwell <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR STAFF SUPPORT - NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS - <br />DEVELOPMENT SERVICES <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a Agreement <br />for Staff Support between the Neighborhood Business Development <br />Corporation, Inc., and the City of South Bend through the Board of <br />Public Works on behalf of the Department of Economic Development. <br />It is noted that under the terms of this Agreement, the City shall <br />provide staff support to NBDC and shall be compensated the amount <br />of $10,000.00. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the Agreement be <br />approved and executed. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the following Community Development <br />Contract has been submitted for Board approval: <br />SOUTH BEND HERITAGE FOUNDATION <br />WEST WASHINGTON ACQUISITION/REHAB/RENTAL-RESALE <br />The targeted goals for this Contract are to acquire the vacant <br />single family dwelling located at 1126 West Jefferson <br />Boulevard, to rehabilitate the property to standard occupiable <br />condition and to offer the property for sale or lease by a <br />low/moderate income household. The total cost of this activity <br />shall not exceed $66,000.00. <br />Ms. Marsha Townsend, Department of Economic Development, informed <br />members of the Board that this Contract will utilize 1991 funds. <br />She noted that this project has been in the process for some time. <br />Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the Contract be approved <br />and executed. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried. <br />Additionally, the following Community Development Contracts, <br />utilizing 1993 funds, have been submitted to the Board for <br />approval: <br />SOUTH BEND HERITAGE FOUNDATION <br />SOUTH BEND HERITAGE FOUNDATION - ADMINISTRATION <br />The targeted goals for this activity are to provide <br />administrative and service support for neighborhood housing <br />programs within the Near West Side neighborhood and to provide <br />assistance for commercial and social service development in <br />the West Washington -Chapin neighborhood. The total cost of <br />this activity shall not exceed $45,000.00. <br />DIVISION OF PLANNING AND NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT <br />NEIGHBORHOOD PARTNERSHIPS PROGRAM <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to provide for <br />construction, reconstruction, or rehabilitation of public <br />facilities and improvements, including, but not limited to <br />improvements such as curbs, curb cuts, sidewalks, street <br />lighting, alley improvements, and tree trimming on tree lawns. <br />
