046 <br />REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 8, 1993 <br />REQUEST FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE AT 727 E. <br />INDIANA - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Kathleen Bean, 727 East Indiana, <br />South Bend, Indiana, advised that she has a handicapped child and <br />would like the parking space in front of her residence designated <br />as a handicapped parking space. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion <br />that the request be referred to the appropriate City departments <br />and bureaus for review and recommendation. Mrs. Mueller seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTORS BONDS <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Division of Engineering, recommended that <br />the Bond of Contractor for Norman Yoder Construction be released <br />effective November 4, 1993. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a <br />motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bond be <br />released as noted. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Mueller <br />and carried, a Certificate of Insurance for Walsh & Kelly, Inc., <br />& Omega Trucking Company, Inc., 1700 Main Street, Griffith, <br />Indiana, was accepted for filing. <br />FILING OF HUMANE SOCIETY MONTHLY REPORTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Board is in receipt of monthly <br />reports as submitted by the Humane Society of St. Joseph County, <br />Inc., for the months of October, November and December, 1992. <br />The reports indicate the type and number of animals handled for <br />the City of South Bend. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the <br />reports be accepted for filing as submitted. Mrs. Mueller <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Department of Code Enforcement <br />has submitted two (2) lists containing forty (40) City owned and <br />miscellaneous properties which were cleaned by the Department <br />from January 25, 1993 to January 29, 1993. Mrs. Mueller made a <br />motion that the lists as submitted be accepted for filing. Mr. <br />Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Kevin C. Horton, City Controller, submitted to the Board <br />claims in the amount of $659,450.84 and recommended approval. <br />Also, the Department of Economic Development has submitted the <br />following claims for approval: <br />SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT <br />PROJECT CONSTRUCTION FUND PAYMENT REQUISITION AND <br />CERTIFICATE FOR PAYMENT OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />Claim No.: 312 <br />Project: Monroe Park - HDC Site Improvements <br />Claim No.: 313 <br />Project: Madison Center Walkway Phase I <br />Payee: Ziolkowski Construction, Inc. <br />1005 South Lafayette Boulevard <br />P.O.
