t032 <br />REGULAV MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 1, 1993 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:33 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 1993, by Board President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and Mrs. <br />Mary H. Mueller present. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED/DELETED <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. Mueller, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and <br />carried, a Traffic Control Device was added to the agenda and the <br />award of bid for hi -band portable two-way radios, vehicular <br />chargers and accessory items for the South Bend Fire Department <br />was stricken from the agenda at this time. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and <br />carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held on <br />January 25, 1993, were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - INSPECTION AND REPAIR OF PUMP NO. 3 AND <br />APPURTENANCES DIVISION A: PUMP INSPECTION AND REPAIRS <br />DIVISION B: RIGHT ANGLE DRIVE INSPECTION AND REPAIRS <br />WASTEWATER TREATMENT <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were opened and publicly read: <br />ELLIOTT TURBOMACHINERY COMPANY, INC. <br />North 4th Street <br />Jeannette, PA 15644 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. John N. Brenzia, Treasurer, Non - <br />Collusion Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination <br />Commitment form was completed and a five per cent (5%) <br />Bid Bond was submitted. <br />BID: <br />Division A: $55,758.00 <br />Division B: $41,755.00 <br />Deduction for performing both Division A and B: -$ 6,197.00 <br />Firm price proposal to prime and paint volute case:$ 565.00 <br />VIKING ENGINEERING COMPANY, INC. <br />2300 Michigan Street <br />Hammond, Indiana 46320 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. A. Brennan, President, Non -Collusion <br />Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination Commitment form <br />was completed and a Certified Check in the amount of <br />$4,145.40 was submitted. <br />Division A: $49,054.00 <br />Division B: $33,854.00 <br />Deduction for performing both Division A and B: $ 856.00 <br />FAIRBANKS MORSE PUMP CORPORATION <br />3601 Fairbanks Avenue <br />Kansas City, KS 66106-0999 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Tom Hoffman, General Manager, PSG, <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order, Non -Discrimination <br />Commitment form was completed and five per cent (5%) <br />Bid Bond was submitted. <br />
