<br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT - ADMINISTRATION OF NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT
<br />FUNDS IN THE RIVER PARK PARTNERSHIP CENTER SERVICE AREA
<br />Mr. Caldwell informed members that Mr. Marco Mariani, Planner, Department of Community and
<br />Economic Development, has submitted an Agreement for a grant of $10,000.00 from the City of
<br />South Bend to the Neighborhood Resources and Technical Services Corporation. Mr. Mariani
<br />informed members that the City will retain the Neighborhood Resources and Technical Services
<br />Corporation to administer the Ten Thousand Dollar ($10,000.00) grant which has been awarded to
<br />the River Park Neighborhood Association from the Good Neighbors Special Projects Fund.
<br />Therefore, Mrs. Manier made a motion to approve the Agreement. Mr. Caldwell seconded the
<br />motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE ACCESS AGREEMENT - MARATHON OIL COMPANY - PROPOSED
<br />MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION OLIVER, VASSAR AND ELMER STREETS
<br />RIGHTS -OF -WAY
<br />Mr. Caldwell informed members that Mr. Matthew J. Wright, P.E., Environmental Engineer,
<br />Marathon Oil Company, 539 South Main Street, Findlay, Ohio, has submitted an Agreement which
<br />permits the Marathon Oil Company access to a portion of the rights -of -way of Olive, Vassar and
<br />Elmer Streets to install groundwater monitoring wells in order to complete environmental testing,
<br />and recommended approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and
<br />carried, the above referred to Agreement was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION TO CONDUCT NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY -
<br />400 BLOCK OF MANITOU PLACE
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised members that favorable recommendations from the Police Department, Legal
<br />Department and Division of Engineering have been received for the request of a neighborhood block
<br />party in the 400 block of Manitou on Sunday, October 29, 1994, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the
<br />recommendations for the above referred to block party were approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION TO REPLACE A SIGN AT THE SOUTH BEND
<br />TRIBUNE - 227 W. COLFAX
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised the Board that favorable recommendations from the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department, St. Joseph County Building Department and the Department of Redevelopment
<br />have been received for the request to replace a sign at the southwest corner of Colfax and Lafayette,
<br />at the South Bend Tribune Building, 227 W. Colfax, South Bend, Indiana. Therefore, Mrs. Manier
<br />made a motion to approve the recommendations. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried,
<br />subject to an Indemnification and Hold Harmless Undertaking.
<br />APPROVE IRREVOCABLE STANDBY LETTER OF CREDIT
<br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, submitted the following Irrevocable
<br />Standby Letter of Credit to the Board and recommended approval:
<br />IRREVOCABLE STANDBY LETTER OF CREDIT NO. 1
<br />ISSUED BY: Valley American Bank
<br />FOR: Hermitage Estates, Section 2, Part 1
<br />AMOUNT: $17,500.00
<br />EXPIRES: October 12, 1995
<br />IMPROVEMENT: To complete the wearing surface, finish coat, street lights,
<br />sidewalks and curb ramp for handicap in Section 2, Part 1 of
<br />Hermitage Estates
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the Letter of Credit
<br />No. 1 was approved.
