REGULAR MEETING JULY 25, 1994 recommended that the Board purchase the golf course maintenance equipment listed below for use by Blackthorn Golf Course. All items except Q are to be awarded to the low bidder. The low bid received on this item does not meet the City's minimum requirements. ITEM E: Tractor Drawn Fairway Aerator AWARD TO: Kenney Machinery Corporation MODEL: Toro 44850 AMOUNT: $3,535.00 ITEM O: Four Wheel Turf Utility Vehicle AWARD TO: REJECT BOTH BIDS RECEIVED. Vehicles bid are not the proper type or size needed at this time. ITEM Q: Greens Aerator AWARD TO: Kenney Machinery Corporation MODEL: Toro 09110 AMOUNT: $8,700.00 Mr. Chlebowski noted that the Jacobsen and Ryan models as bid by Illinois Lawn Equipment, Inc., do not meet the City's horsepower specifications. The City specified a minimum of a 16 horsepower engine. The Jacobsen is equipped with an 11 horsepower engine and the Ryan is equipped with an 8 horsepower engine. Therefore, the Toro is much more productive in saving time and labor. Additionally, Mr. Chlebowski advised that the Division of Equipment Services requests that the Board purchase the golf course maintenance equipment listed below for use by the South Bend Park Department. All items except D and J are to be awarded to the low bidder. The low bids received on these items do not meet the City's minimum requirements. ITEM A: Four Wheel Turf Utility Vehicle AWARD TO: Kenney Machinery Corporation MODEL: Toro Model 07200 AMOUNT: $10,378.00 ITEM B: Lightweight Fairway Mower AWARD TO: Illinois Lawn Equipment MODEL: Jacobsen LF100 AMOUNT: $18,711.00 ITEM C: Four Wheel Turf Utility Vehicle and Core Harvester Kit AWARD TO: Illinois Lawn Equipment, Inc. MODEL: Cushman 898632 & Cushman 890009 Core Harvester AMOUNT: $13,770.00 ITEM D: 72" Commercial Rotary Mower AWARD TO: Kenney Machinery Corporation MODEL: Toro GroundMaster 345 AMOUNT: $10,710.00 Illinois Lawn Equipment submitted the low bid of $10,423.00 for a Jacobsen T436G. The Jacobsen T436G does not meet City specifications of a 28 horsepower gasoline engine. The T436G was bid with a 22 horsepower engine. The Toro GroundMaster 345 is equipped with a 28 horsepower engine and therefore is more productive in saving time and labor.
