<br />were submitted to the Board on June 20, 1994, are also recommended
<br />for approval.
<br />Finally, the Application For Use Of And Blocking Of Access To
<br />Public Right -of -Way For A Party Or Similar Event, as submitted by
<br />Ms. Susan Farrell, 1842 Wilber Street, South Bend, Indiana, to
<br />close Wilber, from Marquette to Portage, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00
<br />p.m. on Monday, July 4, 1994, for a July 4th Block Party has been
<br />reviewed and recommended for approval.
<br />Therefore, Mrs. Manier made a motion that the recommendations be
<br />accepted and the requests be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the
<br />motion which carried.
<br />REQUESTS REFERRED:
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and
<br />carried, the following requests were referred to the appropriate
<br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation:
<br />BLOCK PARTY - JULY 16, 1994
<br />Ms. Susan Biggs, on behalf of the Bellevue Addition
<br />Neighborhood Association, 938 Bellevue, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />submitted an Application For Use Of And Blocking Of Access To
<br />Public Right -of -Way For A Party Or Similar Event, requesting
<br />that Bellevue Avenue, from Ruskin Street to Hildreth Street,
<br />be closed from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16,
<br />1994, for a neighborhood block party.
<br />OF MIDLAND ENGINEERING TO CLOSE THE N/S ALLEYS AND THE E/W
<br />ALLEYS IN THE 300 BLOCK OF SOUTH MAIN IN CONJUNCTION WITH RE-
<br />ROOFING OF AMERITECH BUILDING
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mrs. Jeanine Olis, Estimator/
<br />Project Manager - Roofing Division, Midland Engineering
<br />Company, 52369 U.S. 33 North, P.O. Box 1019, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, requested permission to close the north/south alleys
<br />and the east/west alleys in the 300 block of South Main
<br />Street. Mrs. Olis noted that they will be reroofing the
<br />Ameritech Building at 307 South Main Street and their crane
<br />needs to be set up at the intersection of the two (2) alleys.
<br />They will be lifting new materials to the 5th and 6th floor
<br />roofs and bringing down rubbish and old roofing materials
<br />from these roofs. The alleys will need to be closed for the
<br />months of July and August.
<br />ROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE
<br />n a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and
<br />ried, the following one (1) traffic control device was
<br />roved:
<br />REMOVAL OF: HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE
<br />LOCATION: 1025 West Washington
<br />REMARKS: Mrs. Betty Gunn is moving and the signs
<br />are no longer required
<br />VE CONTRACTORS BONDS
<br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Division of Engineering, recommended that
<br />the Bond of Contractor for R & E Construction Corporation, 10289
<br />McKinley Highway, Osceola, Indiana, be approved effective June 9,
<br />1994. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that this bond be approved.
<br />Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried.
