- 334 <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 13. 1994 <br />and labor for deadbolt locks and associated accessories and <br />smoke detectors for approximately two hundred fifty (250) low <br />and moderate income homeowners. The total cost of this <br />activity shall not exceed $53,000.00. <br />SOUTH BEND HERITAGE FOUNDATION <br />CUSHING STREET PUBLIC WORKS <br />The targeted'goal for this activity is to provide for <br />construction, reconstruction or rehabilitation of public <br />improvements, including, but not limited to, curbs, curb <br />cuts, sidewalks and alley improvements in the 500-600 block <br />of Cushing Street. The total cost of this activity shall not <br />exceed $35,000.00. <br />Mr. Le�szczynski indicated that the Board is in receipt of three <br />(3) Emergency Shelter Grant Program Contracts between the City of <br />South�Bend Board of Public Works, for and on behalf of the <br />Departtment of Community and Economic Development, and the <br />following recipients: <br />CENTER FOR THE HOMELESS $40,000.00 <br />he targeted goal for this activity is to serve five hundred <br />(500) clients. <br />4OUTH SERVICES BUREAU $17,963.00 <br />he targeted goal for this activity is to serve two hundred <br />(200) clients. <br />. JOSEPH COUNTY AIDS TASK FORCE $12,012.00 <br />targeted goal for this activity is to serve twelve (12) <br />ients. <br />The Contracts indicate that in order to assist the City's efforts <br />to ensure safe, temporary housing for South Bend citizens facing <br />homelessness, the City will provide funds to the above referenced <br />recipients to carry out a program to provide services to those in <br />need of temporary shelter. <br />Mr. Lszczynski made a motion that these Contracts be approved and <br />executed. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CONTRACT - CENTER CITY ASSOCIATES <br />Submitted to the Board for approval was an Agreement between the <br />City of South Bend Board of Public Works for and on behalf of the <br />Department of Community and Economic Development and Center City <br />Associates. The purpose of the Agreement is to establish the <br />guidelines for Center City Associates's utilization of program <br />income generated from the use or rental of City -owned parking lots <br />lease by CCA. Those parking lots, which produce program income <br />are known as Parcels C80-7 and C8-9 (Baer's lot), Parcel C4-46 <br />(Shoppers Lot), Parcel C9-12 (Inwoods strip) and Parcel C9-1 <br />(Michigan and Western lot). It is further noted that program <br />income received by CCA in the use or rental of these parking lots <br />is subject to Community Development Block Grant regulations. Mr. <br />Leszcz�ynski made a motion that this Contract be approved. Mr. <br />Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF POLICE DEPARTMENT TO CONDUCT AUCTION <br />PolioChief Ronald G. Marciniak advised that the Department <br />wishes) to sell by auction a 1933 Ford Coupe Kit Car. This vehicle <br />was obtained via asset seizure and titled to the City of South <br />Bend Police Department for use or sale by the United States <br />Marshal's Service. <br />1 <br />
